On the palate flavors of blackberry and cherry, slightly jammy, with notes of cinnamon and floral spice. Clean fine tannins, medium+ finish ending with fruit and herb spice. Glorious Beauj raspberry strawberry. Very much Beauj but it also has an earthy not hidden in there. Elegantly balanced as well. Right when opened a lot was going on. It smells like stems. I like that. Another Beauj to go on the rotation for things to look for when it comes out. — 3 years ago

Omg didn’t expect to feel enthused and I am at least enthusing. It’s got that good ripeness but is ohhhh so fresh in an unpretentious way like it is en pointe but it took it til age 16 for madame to approve it for pointe (not projecting real life nahhh) so it says “elegant red and black fruit with undercurrents earth” but ”oh hi I’m so ripe cause like, The sun is hot!”. Ugh I adore this didn’t expect to and I do. Egads. — 7 years ago

Pale salmon in color. Nose of minerally melon, echoed on the palate which also yields white flowers and marzipan. Body is light. Acidity is medium minus (as appropriate for the appellation). Finish is surprisingly long. As I’ve read, the 2018 vintage is a bit weaker than its immediate predecessors and that shows here. Not as much depth as last year, but Madame Sumiere still managed to pull off a very nice and typical rosè. As well she should, having invented the style and all. Salade Niçoise is of course a natural pair, but feel free to take this one into the fall. Drink now. — 7 years ago

Elegant and expressive with a beautiful bouquet. It shows lovely purity and finesse. Black raspberries, red flowers, a touch of reduction, exotic spices and roasted herbs. It shows no “green” of the vintage and the subtle herbal quality is seamlessly integrated and only adds to complexity. It’s not at all thin, and it has great intensity, yet simultaneously it’s weightless and it just floats on the palate. Finishes long with vibrance and lift. The nose reveals, mashed, sour, candied/liqueured, meyer lemon, very ripe, pineapple, golden apple, lime skin, & green apple w/ almost no skin, fresh, herbal qualities, honey, beeswax, vanillin, warm caramel, limestone minerals, soft chalkiness, wet stone with yellow lilies and florals and mixed greens.

The body is; round, rich, bold, thick & waxy. It is gorgeous over the palate. Mashed, sour, candied/liqueured, meyer lemon, grapefruit pulp, dry & candied pineapple, golden apple, key lime, stone fruit, tangerine & green apple w/ almost no skin, fresh, herbal qualities, honey, beeswax, vanillin, warm caramel, toffee, marmalade, white spice, limestone minerals, soft chalkiness, wet stone, dusty dry rocks, saline notes with yellow lilies, white florals & mixed greens. The acidity is, beautifully, round & phat. The rich, ruby, heather honied, well balanced/polished finish delicious & lingers well.
