Mountain Laurel Spirits

Laurel Glen Vineyard

Sonoma Mountain Estate Cabernet Sauvignon 2013

2013 vintage. Captures more than a bit of that old-school, 80's-90's Laurel Glen magic and oomph. Firing right now and for the foreseeable future. Medium/medium-heavy body. 2.18.26. — 3 months ago

Laurel Glen

Cabernet Sauvignon 1985

Shows a little of the bell pepper aromas that I often found in older Sonoma Cabs, but nicely balanced fruit that is still quite youthful, tannins have mostly receded, drinking quite well tonight, bravo Patrick for making this gem!! — 3 years ago

***I had no idea such witchcraft existed, but the world is a better place with Granny Z's Hard Iced Tea in it. Believe it or not, but this is actually a white wine flavored with tea. Local PA wine for the win. I see that the winery also has varieties including a mint wine, so I will be adding this winery to my bucket list for sure. I have never seen this at any PA Wine & Spirits store, but I bought two bottles at Wegmans (grocery store) in June of 2018. This was the only variety they carried, but if the others are good as the hard iced tea, I'm in for a treat.

Very sweet and literally tastes like sweetened iced tea. Very refreshing and perfect for hot summer days on the deck. It is easy to forget that this is a wine! Wish I could get this out here in the Burgh, but I guess good things come to those who wait!

DuMOL

Montecillo Vineyard Moon Mountain Cabernet Sauvignon 2021

2021 vintage. By far, the best Moon Mountain Cabernet I've had over the course of 34 years and it's not even close. Power, finesse, structure, development, balance, potential. Generally not a Sonoma County Cab fan with the older, Patrick Campbell produced/overseen Laurel Glen Cabs (1985-1994) being the main exception. 08.15.25. — 9 months ago

Have you had Kamen’s Moon Mtn cabs? Those stand out as being worthy of a bottle of two. Haven’t tried this one from Dumol but generally enjoy their wines.

@Shay A I’ve got a Kamen MM on the current list but don’t remember which one exactly. Recall them both as being worthy and similar stylistically.

La Kiuva

Rouge de Vallée Red Blend 2019

Blend with the local Nebbiolo. Medium–light. Good mountain minerality and a little funky. Tar + roses, graphite, some brambles, lush apple, touch of stewed strawberry, mild tannins and acidity but nice and savory. From Amaro Spirits & Wine. 08/31/21 — 5 years ago

Kamen Estate Wines

Moon Mountain District Cabernet Sauvignon 2021

2021 vintage. Not a fan of Sonoma Cabs (excepting the old late 70's-mid 90's Laurel Glen efforts). Exceptional polish and harmony for a great but new vintage release. Medium body. Drinking verry nicely now but should really start strutting its stuff in 3-4 years. A "pretty" Sonoma Cab. 10.30.24. — 2 years ago

@Norman Gennaro Was expecfing chunkiness but that was nowhere to be found. It was almost too smooth.

Under appreciated in the extreme - Laurel Glen produces superb and distinctive Cabernet Sauvignon from Sonoma Mountain. This is their Lot44 - essentially a reserve version. Find some! — 7 years ago
