I could literally write everything i know about South African wines on a postage stamp but this tastes great. Its a big boy and no shrinking violet with juicy dark fruit and depth. Somehow reminds me of an italian merlot (which i love!). Great quality to price ratio if you like your wines big and bold — 3 years ago
It showed great tonight, one of the best Syrahs in a long time. So complex, so complete, so full of flavour and life, so enjoyable. With many more years ahead of it. Boy, was Jay Miller ever right about this wine. — 4 years ago

Dark purple/black color. Aromas of cooked black fruit, violets and Asian spices. Blackberry compote, huckleberry, blueberry jam and black plum fruit flavors along with notes of chocolate, black licorice, basil, tobacco, coffee and vanilla. Hint of saline on the long and drawn out finish. High, but not obvious, alcohol (16%). Velvety texture and tannin structure. Plush, bold and powerful. Thanks for sharing, James W. — 9 months ago
Lighter tannins, and softer. But boy does it pack a nose! Dark cherries, figs, leather and wood. Nice long fruity finish. — 4 years ago
Tree Kilpatrick
This was a gift from a close friend who worked for Silver Oak as a garden manager until they eliminated that part of their business. Beautiful color in the glass. Ruby with a hint of rust on the edge. Aroma is complex with berries and flint. Also just a hint of pine needles. Christmas trees. Flavors are full and fine. This is BIG BOY wine. Delicious. — 2 months ago
