2022 vintage. Sampled via Coravin. Medium-medium heavy body. Vineyard from the highest point in Gevrey-Chambertin. Gorgeous throughout already with surprising, back-end spice fest. Tannins slightly muted but started to creep out after a few minutes in the glass. This likes to speed and is going places. 1.30.26. — 5 days ago

2019 vintage. Last tasted 3.8.25 (9.6) and 8.19.23 (9.5). Excellent fill and great cork. Decanted and tasted after 30 minutes. Small amount of chunky sed. Medium-heavy body but starting to slowly thin out. Excellent colo(u)r. Alongside the roasted nuts and smoked meats flavors, this drops a current cola-nut driven finish. Smooth and harmonious. Love this producer along with a nod to consumers/wine trade for keeping these ridiculous pricings down. 10.10.25. — 4 months ago
2019 vintage. Sampled via Coravin. Medium-medium heavy body. Slightly astringent immediately on the finish but the intro + mid-palate was filled with balanced fruit. Feel this will be right as rain with a decant or hour of air. A consistent Gevrey performance. 1.30.26. — 5 days ago
2022 - Light yet deep, floral, aromatic spice, so good! — 2 months ago
I have wanted to do Alban side by side with Rostaing with a well seasoned Tri-tip. Tonight is the night.
The crowd that leans California liked the French better.
I have always thought Alban in the new world mimicked Rostaing’s style.
Both phenomenal and I enjoyed both for slightly different climate & soil reasons.
These two producers do Syrah without the heavy smoked meats & bacon fat of say Cayuse. — 5 months ago

Happy New Year! 🍷
Perfect pairing w/ my Dutch oven braised short-ribs & horseradish mashed potatoes.
Dark currants, brambly blackberries, dark cherries, brilliant cherries, strawberries, iron pan, dry shale, dry herbs-sage lead, dry crushed rocks, limestone, volcanics, roasted chestnuts (a signature of this producer), some black coffee, tarriness, dry top soil, dark spices, some red to mid berry cola, red, dark flowers, violets, excellent, round acidity, balance for days, nice structure/tension with elegance that lands squarely on dry earthiness. — a month ago
