Tenerife, Canary Islands. Listan Bianco varietal. Out of this world good. — 7 months ago
Named after family’s original parcel, “Locartas” is a highly expressive ambassador for the Güímar valley’s distinctive volcanic sands. The blend comprises eight individual parcels throughout the valley, planted nearly entirely to Listán Blanco (with 2-3% Albillo Criollo). Vinified in stainless steel and aged for six months in 90% steel and 10% French oak. Medium lemon color, aromas of fruits and nutty notes. Flavors of ripe apple and apricot, medium+ finish ending with fruit and savory salinity character. — 2 years ago
I loved this NV Solera blend. I also like dry sherry. #canaryislands (frivolous party wines coming at you below) — 5 years ago
— 5 years ago
Light on the nose, crisp, bright, nice acidity, hint of ash and minerals. — 2 years ago

Relaxing and subtle summer wine. A little watery in a refreshing way, doesn’t get me hungover, a good daytime functioning wine. The bottle is pretty for a dinner party 💕 — 4 years ago
Sometimes you just need a #volcanicwine. This one comes from the craggy, windswept Canary Islands of the northwest coast of Africa. Put on some Cesaria Évora and get ready for a whiff of smoky funk followed by deeply mineral flavors of plum and red berries, bitter herbs, and pulverized stone. Faint powdery tannins hang in a haze as the wine lingers with bitter licorice root and camphor wood notes in the finish. Made from old vines of Listan Negro, it’s a classical expression of the Canaries, but from a surprising source. The producers behind this brand are the Spanish cooperative CVNE and local producer Suertes de Marques who selected fruit from theor vineyards in Valle de Orotava on the island of Tenerife. 2016 Medianías Listan Negro Viñas Viejas, Valle de la Orotava, Canary Islands, Spain. — 5 years ago
Yellow apple, grapefruit, lemon, minerally, saline. Beachy mediterranean vibes. Delicious! — 5 years ago
Interesting Canary Islands listan blanco. I’m still not sure I could eloquently describe reduction in a wine but I can tell you that this seems to be a good example of it. Still quite balanced. Doesn’t have the acid intensity I generally look for but enjoyed it. — 4 years ago
