I have often struggled to appreciate Roussanne as it often lacks the acidity that I prefer in white wines. That being said, I always keep an open mind and experiences like this are the reason why. As a pairing, this was absolutely perfect with our seafood boil. Richly floral with stone fruits and nuts. A wine of texture with an undeniable oily-ness about it. The finish lasted 15-20 seconds; just long enough for the next bite of crab, lobster or shrimp. Repeat. This was markedly better than the first bottle we had a couple years back and I have to believe a little cellar time and the right food made the difference. — 5 years ago
Lighter bodied, juicy Grenache from Clarksburg. Fruit forward pomegranate jam, and strawberry without being over the top fruity. Great with a chill. Pair with chicken teriyaki or lamb schwarma. — 6 years ago
Cherry, slightly sweet, dark red fruit, a little rich. Pepper throughout. Slightly smoky. Long red fruit finish. Drank for Thanksgiving at home. Elissa bought for me as a gift several years ago. She thought it was a little too rich, which I get but I liked it. — 7 years ago
I’ve been tasting bottles of the 2013 since 2016 and they have consistently improved over those 10 years from ‘tight and flat’ to ‘layered, super smooth, loaded with dark fruits, graphite and a little pepper’ for the most recent bottle (3/26). This has emerged as one of the best Rodgers Creek’s I have in a collection spanning 13 vintages from 2006 on. — 3 months ago
On the richer side but with terrific acidity on the finish. Very good. — 10 months ago

Great fruit, with some nice earthy notes — 5 years ago
A GSM blend from Cris Cherry at Villa Creek, this is what I would call one of his entry-level wines. Doesn’t possess the depth or complexity of some of his other cuvees like High Road or Avenger, but is still really enjoyable and a great value. — 6 years ago

Transparent burgundy with orange tinged halo in the glass. On the nose, one detects dark cherry, black pepper, and barely a hint of floral notes. The dark cherries reappear in the mouth with a bit of smoky sweet complexity and medium tannins. Finish lingers a little. I’d say it is quite a nice versatile wine. — 7 years ago
N: hint rubber blackberry.
P: sweet fruit. Balanced. Crunchy. Spice. Blackberry.

Crossfork Creek — Cabernet Sauvignon 2021, Yakima Valley (Sheridan Vineyard), Washington, USA 🇺🇸
Overview
A polished, elegant Yakima Cabernet showing classic Sheridan Vineyard finesse. Structured yet supple, with cassis-driven depth, dark fruit richness, and a cool-climate herbal lift that feels both refined and quietly powerful. Tastes far more expensive than it is.
Aromas & Flavors
Cassis, black plum, blackberry, subtle mint, eucalyptus, cocoa, graphite, and light oak spice.
Mouthfeel
Medium-plus to full-bodied with silky tannins and excellent balance. Lush but not heavy, smooth and layered, finishing long and composed.
Food Pairings
Grilled ribeye, lamb chops, rosemary chicken, mushroom risotto, aged cheddar, or slow-braised short ribs.
Verdict
Beautifully made and genuinely elegant. Complex, expressive, and harmonious without excess weight. A terrific example of Washington Cabernet that delivers both power and finesse.
🍷 Did You Know?
Sheridan Vineyard is one of Yakima Valley’s most respected sites, often supplying fruit to premium Washington producers thanks to its warm days, cool nights, and naturally concentrated Cabernet character.
Personal Pick
Right in my sweet spot, plush fruit, lifted freshness, and silky structure. The kind of bottle that feels “special” without needing a special occasion.
