Very elegant, floral. — 20 days ago
Popped and poured and started drinking about 30 minutes later. Amazing! Nose to die for! — 14 days ago
It’s not about QPR when you have a chance to drink history. I had other plans for this bottle but I thought about the bottles I’ve sold over the years and never tasted which now I regret.
You can’t take them with you so you might as well enjoy while you can. Very good, bigger than I expected from a Burgundy but its another bucket list bottle — a month ago

Should have seen the tacos 🌮 I had with it, that would cause an envious uproarOver the years, I have been very fortunate to experience a few unicorns and I guess it’s time to add one to the list. “La Romanée” is the smallest Grand Cru appellation in all of Burgundy. At just a hair over 2 acres, production from this vineyard totals roughly 300 cases per year. In contrast, DRC’s production of the directly adjacent Romanée-Conti is nearly twice that number. La Romanée is actually a Monopole of Domaine du Comte Liger-Belair but production was the responsibility of Bouchard Père & Fils for nearly 30 years. That is, until the 2006 vintage. Since then, Louis-Michel Liger-Belair has shifted that responsibility back to the Domaine.
Opened and poured into a decanter about 30min prior to service. The 1999 “La Romanée” pours a slightly deep ruby with a transparent core; medium viscosity with no staining of the tears. On the nose, the wine is developing, intensely sanguine, and beginning to show some signs of secondary characteristics: black cherry, bruised strawberry, roasted meat, mushrooms, and fine spices. On the palate, the wine is dry with medium+ tannin and medium+ acid. Confirming the notes from the nose, the finish is long and has a slightly ferrous quality, again giving off those sanguine vibes. This is phenomenal, old school GC Burgundy. What a truly special treat. Drink now with patience and through 2049+. — 11 days ago
Fire! Glad I waited — 24 days ago
2010 vintage. 4th of 4 bottles. Last officially tasted 2.22.25 (9.4) but tasted two other bottles since...about 6 and 8 months ago. All three visits decanted, medium body, showing more fruit than expected and rated 9.4. This last bottle not decanted and tasted with @romo after approx 30 minutes open and again after 1.5 hours open. Light-medium/medium body. Most advanced of the four experiences and the least amount of fruit. Allowed for the delicate, finishing latticework to develop without distractions. Another 3-4 years in this current state before detouring elsewhere seems about right. 01.16.26. — 19 days ago

Opened some time prior to service; enjoyed over the course of an hour. The 2013 Vosne-Romanée pours a deep ruby with a transparent core; medium viscosity with no staining of the tears. On the nose, the wine is developing with its notes of strawberry, raspberry, black cherry, rosemary, coniferous forest floor, minerals and fine baking spices. On the palate, the wine is dry with medium+ tannin and medium+ acid. Confirming the notes from the nose. The finish is long. This is a profoundly sensual wine that is showing really well now and I would expect it to be thrilling for years to come. Drink now through 2048. — 3 days ago
