Jessie James Vineyard Pinot Noir 2022

Outrageous! Even in the flood of thanksgiving wines, this stood head and shoulders above the din. Selfishly, I’m glad only 3-4 of us were partakers. By far, one of , if not the very best U.S. Pinot Noir in my experience. Wonderful nose and balance in all things.
We shall have to wait for a non-holiday quaff for greater exposition.

Consistent with prior notes. Maybe adding a little gravitas/depth. Still super fresh. — 5 months ago

There’s a lovely peanut butter, VA, botrytis nose. Palate is intense. So tropical and juicy and clean. Acid is great but not like 18. — 3 years ago

Super mineral nose with discreet framing oak. Lemon flesh. Some rainer cherries. Saline and iodine. Subtle yet focused and incredibly complex nose. Such nice earth and mineral tones. Smells like Burgundy of yesteryear. Palate is so lean, salty and concentrated with a lingering hint of complex sweetness from the wood on the incredibly persistent finish. So juicy and leaning on the palate and just laser focused. So long. This has much more to give and has closed down a bit since I tasted it last. But a stunner. I’ll be back as it airs.

After 4 hours this is a wonder and has opened beautifully. Clear barely ripe granny smith apple, stunning mineral breadth and some white flowers. Palate is so juicy and saline. Luscious. It’s loosened up quite a bit. Long, structured finish. Super juicy. Fantastic.

Out of this world. Insane inner mouth aromas and crazy ass confectionary aromas. Just a masterpiece. Palate is lush and juicy with no hard edges and top .01% elegance. Just unbelievably delicious. — 10 days ago

Very nice wine. On the nose a mixture of mostly red fruits, sweet floral aroma; palate with crunchy red fruit, good acidity and length. On the palate there initially was a strong taste of what I best describe as potpourri; almost like a Christmas candle. Initially this was too much for me. I let the bottle sit for 48 hours and revisited, and it was much more integrated. I think a few years of aging might benefit. — 4 months ago

Havlin Vineyard Chardonnay 2019

Every wine from Martin Woods is a treat. Grassy, lemony nose, almond candy in the background, mineral, white/yellow flowers, stone fruits.
Very interesting cooperage, both French and Oregonian oak. But, no buttah.
A crisp mouthful indeed, delicate.
As it warms it fills out. Never heavy.
