Perfect ripeness with no excess sweetness: it’s completely dry, full-bodied, and layered with blackberry, plum, cocoa, and a touch of tobacco. The tannins are silky but firm, so it stands up beautifully to rich dishes and holiday flavors. — 7 months ago

Bold Jammy flavor with a nice spice finish — 2 years ago
The 2020 Nicolás Catena Zapata is a blend composed of 40% Cabernet Sauvignon, 40% Malbec and 20% Cabernet Franc sourced from Paraje Altamira in the Uco Valley. It was carefully aged for up to 16 months in French oak barrels. Garnet in hue. The nose reveals captivating cassis, rose, blackberry, plum and fig aromas harmoniously combined with dried flowers. The palate presents a dry and ample profile, with fine-grained tannins and a juicy flow that leads to a vibrant mouthfeel, brimming with energy. This meticulously crafted red achieves precise balance in a warm vintage. (Joaquín Hidalgo, Vinous, September 2023)

Blend of 50% Cabernet Sauvignon, 45% Malbec and 5% Cabernet Franc, co-fermented and sourced from vineyards in Vista Flores and Altamira in the Valle de Uco, deep Ruby with aromas of dark berry fruit, floral and spicy notes. On the palate flavors of blackberry and blueberry with herb and generous spice. Fine tannins, long finish ending with fruit, spice and mineral character. Nice! — 4 years ago
Big & bold not alot of tanin — 7 months ago
Deep purple in color with a short purplish rim.
Full-bodied with medium acidity.
Dry and very fruity on the palate with nice complexity.
Showing blackberries, blueberries, black plums, cooked cherries, spices, oak, licorice, herbs, light vegetables and peppercorn.
Medium finish with round tannins and tangy raspberries.
This 6-year-old Malbec from Mendoza is still young, and a little harsh. I had it before and this time I let it open for a whole day.
Tangy and rich. Very extracted and a little unbalanced.

Revisiting a delicious Malbec from the Valle de Uco, Argentina 🇦🇷
This wine is medium purple with youthful, concentrated aromas of ripe blackberry, blueberry, and plum; also dried sage, thyme, and lavender, wet earth, espresso, black licorice, peppercorn, smokiness, and game.
It is a dry wine, with medium acidity, a full body, high alcohol, medium tannins, and medium(+) intensity in flavors consistent with the nose. The finish is medium.
Evident in the purity of fruit expression, this wine has not seen oak, underwent whole cluster fermentation, and matured in a concrete egg (hence the name!).

A beautiful, tannic expression of Malbec. We had it with lamb chops and enjoyed it immensely. — 8 months ago

Juicy and effervescent. Hazy, with floral notes and rich grapefruit and white peach flavors to round it out. Beautiful on a hot early June evening. — 19 days ago
