Gran Vino Pazo Barrantes Rías Baixas Albariño 2022

Bright lemon color with stone and tropical fruit aromas and floral scents. On the palate flavors of pear, apples and peaches with lemon citrus and chalky notes. Well balanced with pleasant lively acidity, long finish ending with mineral, citrus and wet stone nuances. Very nice! — 2 months ago

Finca Ygay Gran Reserva Rioja Tempranillo Blend 2015

I expected more from this wine, it’s nice is, but it was nothing special, good acidity but missing roundness and Rioja pedigree — 6 months ago

New to wine. This was one of the first quality reds I was recommended. Should age well and has decent tannins. — 23 days ago

Marqués de Murrieta

Dalmau Rioja Tempranillo Blend 2019

My first time trying Dalmau; arguably the most modern expression from Marqués Murrieta. The fruit for Dalmau comes from 70+ year old vines planted in the Canajas vineyard.

Popped and poured; enjoyed over the course of an hour. The 2019 pours a deep ruby/purple with an opaque core; medium+ viscosity with significant staining of the tears. On the nose, the wine is developing with notes of ripe, black cherry, plum, tobacco, cedar, and fine baking spices. On the palate, the wine is dry with medium+ tannin and medium+ acid. Confirming the notes from the nose. The finish is long. A polished wine that’s still very much and infant. Drink now with patience and through 2044. Bottle No. 14135/15526

Reserva Rioja Tempranillo Blend 2020

I had not had it for a while. Surprised me for good. Expressive nose of strawberries, dark cherries, a hint of chocolate, darkness grows. Easy tannins of the 2020 vintage, good acid. Great, and great value — 5 months ago

Marqués de Cáceres

Rioja Rosé Blend 2024

This dependable rosé is a rich, pink salmon color, with a mineral-laden nose featuring lemon, strawberry, and cherry aromas. The palate is dry, fruity and laced with minerals. A good level of acidity provides for excellent food pairing and a refreshing demeanor on its own. There’s a touch of orange peel on the finish.

The wine is a great chilled sipper, but also pairs well with spring salads, summer grilling, or paella, if you're up to it.
