A Barolo in a perfect place. — 4 months ago
— 6 months ago

Better than it was just a few months ago, which was right after bottling. Crushed raspberry and steel. Good acidity, low tannin but still substantial. Perfect burger wine! Chicken cordon bleu too! — 4 years ago

Really a lovely langhe nebbiolo from a producer we respect deeply after walking the Bricco Boschis with him a couple years ago. Decanted for 3 hours which I definitely recommend at this time. A bit unresolved still in terms of tannins. But deeply aromatic with great dark fruit and acid. Probably a better pairing with a cut of meat vs pizza. Delicious. — 5 years ago
From magnum. Popped and poured; enjoyed over the course of an hour. The 2021 pours a deep garnet color with a near opaque core; medium+ viscosity with no staining of the tears. On the make, the wine is developing with notes of cherry, cranberry, pomegranate, red flowers, licorice and a mix of cool and warm spices. On the palate the wine is dry with medium+ tannin and medium+ acid. Confirming the notes from the nose. The finish is medium+. Well made. Drink now through 2036. — 2 months ago
S'accorde biem eb regardant le patinage artistique.
Des notes d'agrumes et de pomme verte. Aussi la petite touche saline en fin de bouche. — 4 months ago
A continuation of sharing my early impressions of the 2021 vintage in Barolo; Cavallotto is one of those benchmark producers for me, inextricably connected to Bricco Boschis, which they have farmed for nearly 100 years. Popped and poured; enjoyed over the course of a few hours. The 2021 Bricco Boschis pours a brilliant garnet color with a transparent core; medium+ viscosity with no staining of the tears. On the nose, the wine is developing with powerful notes of Morello cherry, dehydrated orange, cumin, tar, roses, talcum powder, fresh sage and fresh mint, and dried gravelly earth. On the palate, the wine is bone dry with structure like that of Helm’s Deep; the tannins are absolutely rippin’ and acid at medium+. Confirming the notes from the nose. The finish is extremely long, savory and drying, to the point that you feel it in your gums several minutes. A brilliant Barolo that has a very long life ahead. Drink now with plenty of air and patience through 2071. Pairs well with hearty lasagna and baseball. — 8 months ago
At Bacco, half bottle. — 4 years ago
Very light tasting wine, local grapes, extremely good and long finish. Deep bright scent, such a lasting flavour. Lots of deep legs around glass — 5 years ago
Goes really well with sesame chicken and noodles. Would probably go well with many chicken dishes. Light, not tannic/acidic. — 5 years ago

Another straggler that aged better than expected. Medium bodied with red fruity notes still present balanced by earthy acidic palate — 4 months ago
Quite deep garnet , just a hint of ruby and a wide garnet , terracotta rim. Touches of chestnut , dark fruits , earthy liquorice , dry spice and black tea . On the palate this is very classically styled , with dark liquorice tinged blackberry, raspberry , spiced black tea and menthol tinged good long length finish . Balanced acaidity and quite high , grippy tannins. With time this is beginning to show quite well , but will not doubt improve over the next 5 perhaps 10 years and last well a further 10 . Really quite classic and imposing in style , but detailed and complex. — 7 months ago
