I will do a more complete note of this exceptional Chardonnay if this is accepted. Pale Lemon in colour. Aromas of flint and struck match sulphides. Palate shows lemony citrus notes and white nectarine with a creamy texture. Crushed cashews. Certainly in the conversation as New Zealand’s best Chardonnay which is outstanding as there is some hot competition. As Tim Jackson MW said “this is one for White Burgundy lovers “. Quite deep golden amber colour , copper rim . On the nose gives the impression of some botrytis , candied peel , beeswax , honey , lychee. On the palate this is less sweet than expected with quite high balancing acidity , more tropical based fruits , pineapple and passion fruit along with the honey and lychee and a touch of lime and caramel on the refreshing finish. This is medium bodied , very elegant and gives that lovely balance between acidity and sweetness. This is lovely now , though I get the impression there is no rush. Deep ruby. Dark sweet plum, salty and floral. The palate is med-full bodied, med acidity, soft-med tannin. There is a dark savoury element that gives the wine gravitas. Beautiful balance. Power without weight. Powerful and beautiful. — 3 years ago

My first NZ Riesling. Off dry. Heavy petrol aromas with slight notes of lemon, green apple and a hint of cat pee. Pronounced flavors of apple and flint with a bit of lemon on the finish. Very much a Riesling, but also somewhat unique. — 5 years ago

Very pale crimson - almost transparent. Aromas of red cherry and violets. Like many good Pinots pale in colour but M+ palate Intensity - an elegant wine finishing with fine tannins. Bell Hill produces some of the rarest and most sought after wines in New Zealand. I have visited all the major wine producing areas in New Zealand but I have never been to Canterbury - not far from Christchurch. — 3 months ago
