A full body, well balanced, paired with beef Bourguignon

Pretty label. Beautiful color. Euro smells. Smells of rosehip and gojiberry. Complex. High ABV. Deceptively strong cider. Pretty dry. Flavors are tart, but full. Tannins. Cukes and bit of cherry surprise. This is fancy cider for the connoisseur. — 2 years ago

Very oaky at first but it didn’t take long to open up. Paired well with dinner. @Delectable Wine this is not the white Bordeaux — 6 years ago

This had lots of red & black fruits, still youthful that opens with air with notes of menthol, savory spices, mineral, floral & tobacco — 4 months ago
@Lyle Fass Amazing juice! What a score and for 1/2 the cost of an Auguste Clape… — 2 years ago

Subtle spice. Excellent body. Earthiness I crave. Paired beautifully with steak and frites. — 7 years ago
2023 vintage. Opened but not tasted for 6 hours (a tad busy!!). Eventually circled back to it. WoW. Medium-heavy bod. Earthy, muddy, rich in the nose and in the flavors. Tremendous length of finish. Supposedly from an Auguste Clape clone, cuttings or some such. This didn't suck. Tannins relatively folded into the overall vibe. Ballard Canyon AVA and 14% ABV. Tasted slightly hot so a little surprised only 14%. So good. 1.9.26. — 5 months ago
Wildcard. Prob my fav cuvée from Julien. Tasted aged even tho it’s a 21. Flowery quality to it, like roses, potpourri.
[2019 Vintage:] “A captivating, translucent ruby red hue. Even on the nose alone, there is already a suggestion of ripeness, yet it is utterly enveloped by fragrance: white flowers, grapefruit, cherry, even stony minerals. Really classy and effusive, replete with sapid pinot-esque flavours of enviable concentration. The vintage is quite magical here: all pure, palate-staining but also inexplicably airy in the mouth. The mouthfeel is silky, culminating in a persistent, gentle and thoroughly sweet-fruited long finish held together by an invisible frame. Like the ethereal cuvée Auguste, trails of crushed flower petals replicate and repeat on the lingering finish.” AC
“Guillot brings a unique perspective to gamay—not quite Burgundy, not yet Beaujolais—not only in his Mâcon Rouge and Mâcon-Cruzille, but the mysterious, radiant, field-blended Cuvée 910.” Jon Bonné — 3 years ago
Bourgogne Pinot Noir 2019 - domaine Christophe Auguste
Sour cherry and hay. It's very young, fresh and fruity
. The palate is made of tangy red fruits and that sour cherry note. A little bit of matter on the sides, a nice, soft mouthfeel, a little bit of a drying effect to kicks things up in the rear. Long finish with that red fruit note. It's not complex, it reminds me of Northern burgundy Pinot I had. Not bad ! — 6 years ago
Had 2018 under quarantine on July 25, 2020. Liked it. Nice and crisp but not overly so. Mineral. Lush. — 6 years ago
