Estate had prior succession problems & split into 2 with original Clos L'Eglise (Rouchut family) on one side and Clos L'Eglise-Clinet (Mauléon family)on the other. Clos L'Eglise has a wine-producing tradition spread over several centuries. A blend of 80% Merlot & 20% Cab Franc, 100% new oak, wonderful warm aromas of fruit & spice. Cherry & Strawberry flavors, with notes of cinnamon & nice energetic mouthfeel. Firm tight tannins that are beginning to open but should continue to age well. Put on Must Try list — 8 years ago

Nice yummy fruit, balance. 90 Merlot/10 Cab Franc from Lalande de Pomerol. Not much length, but delightful at the BBQ! From the Durantou family of Chateau l'Eglise Clinet. — 10 years ago
Red bell pepper, roasted notes, lavender, licorice and blackberry, forest fruit jam, ink. Fresh printed newspaper. Impresses quite young in terms of tannins. Plum tart. Caramel. Concentrated. — 2 months ago
2015 vintage. A very fine Castillon by Denis Durantou ( of Eglise-Clinet fame). Better the second day, so you might want to decant. Totally outperforming stablemate Les Cruzelles ( Lalande de Pomerol), tasted alongside. Good red fruit concentration, balancing the typical Castillon chalkiness. 75% Merlot, 20% Cabernet Franc, and 5% Cabernet Sauvignon.Abv. 14,5% — a year ago
Crisp citrus with hints of pepper and saffron. — 5 years ago
This did more than hold its own in a 1966 tasting that included Haut Brion and l’Eglise Clinet. Beautiful wine, very elegant. — 7 years ago

Soft, plushy black cherry, plum, graphite, bay leaf. Excellent length. Was hoping to be blown away and am not quite, but it’s high quality Pomerol all the same. Happy Father’s Day — 4 days ago
