Domaine Chante-Perdrix

Châteauneuf-du-Pape Red Rhone Blend 2018

Wednesday night is good for CDP. My first go with this producer. It's very good! Nice balance of fruit, smoke, and those awesome Rhone river pebbles.

Domaine des Perdrix

Vosne-Romanée Pinot Noir 2021

Medium rubi robe, very clean and crystal clear. Nose of dark cherries and spices, anise. Very polished tannins, good density and complexity, medium bodied, very drinkable but oh so long and so young. We decanted one hour before. Deserves 4 more years in the cellar if you can resist. We will likely not :) — a month ago

This one was incredible. I’m sure it will get even better with time but just wow. — 2 months ago

Aux Perdrix Nuits St. Georges 1er Cru Pinot Noir 2021

We had two bottles both excellent. No specific notes but textbook complex and elegant NSG with a lot of concentration (but not over extracted) thanks to very old vines. Great stuff. — 25 days ago

Belle Glos

Oeil de Perdrix Sonoma County Blanc de Noir Rosé 2023

Strawberries, cherry, watermelon, crisp apples, mint, and a couph drop taste as previously mentioned. One hour decant, lush mouthful. Minerals on the finish. — 2 months ago

@Peter van den Besselaar, did you notice any newish oak? About 10-15 years I bought a Chamte Cigale VV (after having much older vintages), the wine I bought had GREAT reviews, but I just despise oodles of new oak in my CdPs!?!?

@Doug Powers I did some research. 70% of the wine was kept on stainless steel and 30% in new barrels for 12 months. The wine was balanced with well integrated wood. We even dit not notice it. Making choices for more or less wood seems very difficult to me. Perhaps you had the wine when the vintner was still searching for the perfect recipe? But certainly you might try it again.

Domaine des Perdrix

Nuits St. Georges Pinot Noir 2021

Medium dark rubi robe with good transparency, nose of asian spices, dark fruits and notes of tobacco. Utterly delicious in the mouth, this is truly a north appellation wine that is closer in style to a Vosne Romanée. Great now, but better in 5 to 7 years. — 16 days ago
