Unmistakably old world. All savoury on the nose - truffle, cedar, salami, and spices. Palate is medium bodied but robust. Perfect balance between red/dark fruit, and savoury notes. Quite tannic. Still young! Amazing p/q. — 3 years ago
Quite a light garnet , terracotta , wide terracotta rim . This shows quite a lot of development , with sweet red focused sous bois , touch of spice , red flowers , earthy notes . On the palate this still has quite good sweetness of ripe red cherry , strawberry notes plus some herbal hints , sweet earthy notes ok length finish . Fills out enough on the palate with fresh acidity and quite suave , rounded tannins . This is just past peak , but has enough fruit still, but I wouldn’t leave it too much longer. Bright red berry fruit aromas and flavors with earthy hints of tobacco and cocoa. Hint of baking spice on the nice finish. Medium bodied and quite rich. Nice. Thank You Ron B! — 4 years ago

Clay and juicy cassis. Black olive. Tannins taste like an old varnished bureau. This is the wine that made me love wine again — especially French wine — and motivated me to start systematically tasting and making notes. Then of course my liquor store stopped carrying it. I was delighted to find a bottle while traveling. Still a wonderful value and delicious, though age would improve it. 92 or … 93! — 2 months ago
