Wallula Vineyards, Horse Heaven Hills. Winery tasting notes mention Bing cherry, blueberry, citrus and sage flavors. Not sure I get the floral character on the initial pour. Dark red, high pigment extraction. Tannins are fine grained and mostly seed tannins initially though skin astringency starts emerging after 15 minutes. Elegant. Bright acidity. Some white pepper finish. A perennial favorite for me, with less herbal expression than some previous vintages, but there is definitely sage going on. 24 hours later, the fruit is fully forward, tannins mellowed, with brightness intact. — 4 months ago

Washington State Syrah from the Wahluke Slope AVA. Dark ruby color with a few black highlights. Aromas of cooked blue and black fruit, wet soil, purple flowers and smoked meat. Flavors of blackberry/blueberry jam, black olives, dark chocolate, dried herbs and roasted nuts. A bit of black pepper spice on the long and deeply concentrated mineral laden finish. Medium-plus body with slightly chewy fine grained tannins. Well balanced acidity and a slightly creamy texture. Quite good. Memorial Day 2026. — a month ago
I’m late to writing this having worked my way through half a case since 2019, but the wine was outstanding throughout and still seemed to have a lot of life in Jan ‘26. Deep, dark, sweet fruit, edges may have rounded over time but maintains a gentle acidity and earthy finish. Raspberry, tart cherry, plummy finish, a depth that few other WH North Slopes have. Wish I had more. — 5 months ago
This was opened a few days back the 2013 Tamarack Cellars Wahluke Slope Cabernet Franc from Walla Walla, Washington.
On the nose is black cherry, blackberry, red plum, green bell pepper, herbaceous and wet gravel.
On the palate is raspberries, strawberry, red plum, black currant, green bell pepper, milk chocolate, fall leaves and crushed gravel.
This wine is medium to full bodied with medium + acidity and medium + firm grippy tannins that gives you a long red fruit crushed gravel finish. This weekend try and do something special with a friend or loved one. Enjoy some wine and some good food and stay healthy and safe. Nostrovia! 🍷🍷🍷🍷 — 3 years ago
Pop and pour. A breathtaking medium ruby red color. On the nose: cloves, cinnamon, cherry, lemon rind, slight scorched earth. Taste: smooth, juicy, layered wine with tart cherry, earthy mushrooms, orange peel, spice, and a gravelly tea finish. YUM! West Slope my fav of the Donum lineup. — 3 years ago

Ripe. Almost like a California Pinot. Very well balanced. Good floral and red fruit characteristics. — 4 years ago
Well structured, nicely balanced with an abundance of succulent red and black fruits, light mouth coating tannins at the tasty finish. A bit heftier than a Tuscan Chianti but it went well with a Kielbasa sausage and lentil soup. — 3 months ago
Garnet red, very good clarity, moderate to high pigment extraction. Luscious red fruit initially with a touch of black fruit on the finish. Light acid, good body, not too alcoholic. After 30 minutes caramel with a touch of eucalyptus and cola emerge while cherry recedes and blackberry undercurrent remains. 24 hours later, fruit flavors integrate with barrel flavors: cranberry, caramel, cherry and eucalyptus cough syrup. Nice complexity but decant to get there, requires patience. Moderate skin astringency on finish may lose some people but it adds to the complexity favorably for me. — 7 months ago
Fruit instead of oak & butter — 3 years ago
Really smooth. Drying tannins on the back end and roasted/cooked dark fruit mixed with some oak. — 4 years ago
Just love this wine, great value, can’t get enough! Belle Pente (bell-pont') means "beautiful slope" - for their 70 acre hillside vineyard & winery site in Willamette Valley. Bright Ruby red with aromas of red fruits, herb spices and hints of blossom notes. On the palate strawberry and cherry flavors, slight sweet undertones, herb notes and smooth tannins. Well balanced on a long finish ending with mineral herb notes. Nice!! Great value. — 6 years ago

Medium yellowish/gold color. Beeswax, tangerine, peach, nuts, and camomile on the nose. Rich wine with ample complexity. Acidity is well integrated. Just coats the palate. Refreshing yet deep and bold. High quality! — 11 days ago
