M bom leve e equilibrado. Acidez pouca. Tanino leve apesar do corte. 2022 — 6 months ago
Veramente un bel vino. 94-96.
Puro ed espressivo. Intenso ed elegante.
La miglior maturità riscontrata in tutti i vini assaggiati fin’ora.
Blend 54 CS 43 M 4 PVerdot 1 CF.
Al naso espressivo con frutta e suolo. Al palato fine, molto naturale e altrettanto preciso e pulito. Finale caldo e avvolgente.
Lascia in bocca la natura del luogo.

Profumato e rotondo. Bella tensione a palato. Finisce con tocco femminile marchio di casa Durantou.

An extraordinary wine of beauty and at the same time wild - a wild beast really. Mostly raspberry notes, crushed marble, tart, cherry. And spice, touch cardamom. Herbs oregano and some thyme. Orange peel. Definitely whole clusters in this one. Needs 1 hour of air. But i would say drink now. A real treat for the E&M freaks. 2016 was across a terrific vintage for them. — 4 months ago

Bellissima interpretazione dell’annata.
Fresco, teso e molto piacevole.
Poca struttura ma ben bilanciata.
Bel finale che dona peso e carattere.

Upon opening unreadable, tart and harsh. Needs about 2-3 hours to open up. Super earthy. Tons of sediment. Very herbaceous. Black forest thyme. Black cherry. Elderberry galore. A tour de force really. Still a ton of tannins - to much? Give it 5 more years? A wine on the edge - tip of the spear. As some of these high end E & M‘s are. I like their wines but not fully convinced of the 2015‘s. Same as with the 2015 Burghs. The hype might not pan out. 24 hours later - this wine needs potentially 10 more years of age - hard to say - mellowed out - orange zest, port wine characteristics, cranberry - still a little rough but for the E&M fans a treat. — 5 months ago

Cleaning out my cellar for a move or at least reduce what i have. All 3 E&M‘s 14,15,16 Liaisons should be consumed within 30 minutes upon opening they are good to go drink up! Within 2 hours they loose appeal. I stand corrected - this one went through a down phase and then came back after 24 hours. The freshest and brightest of my recent trifecta of E&M and also the most pale. Still quite tannic. Touch peach? Sour raspberry, hint lime 🍋🟩. Crushed marble. Quite acidic. The 14 was the clear winner. In all cases the cork was quite soft and almost all the way moist to the top. — 9 months ago

Bottle variation oh yes. Lyle Fass’s version is a tad better upon opening (more tomorrow stay tuned). Did he import these in 2009/10? I am on a mission now. And will taste the E&M‘s up to 2014 over the next months. Tasting these older vintages is always let’s say a “pan” on the Ass. Because I am so worried I will get it wrong. So I try over days. And often pop additional bottles to be sure. And while the 2009‘s E&M are super interesting wines and challenge me like no others - I am holding firm after tasting (a total) of 6 bottles of both the Muschelkalk and the often richer Bundsanstein - these should be consumed in the next 3-6 months. Some bottles might surprise on the upside based on your taste buds but for me <. — 2 months ago
