At some point i had to show off my Frankensteinian Argon line with a 50L tank below hahaha. This 14.6%‘er needed to settle down after opening and the system allowed me to taste this over 5 days+++. Waxy, viscous and super rich. Jasmine galore, white flowers, honeysuckle, honey, waxy, pretty herbaceous and touch bitter. Fantastic with the right food. Some dish with sprinkled blue cheese would be a match made in heaven. On its own just over the top. — 5 months ago

1990 Leroy Richebourg. Dinner at Tap w Frederic. Drank after the 1975 Phelps Eisele and before the 1975 Mayacamas. We decanted just before serving and it definitely needed more time to open up. The nose was elegant and multidimensional, but perhaps because we didn’t give the wine enough time, the wine was very restrained in the mouth. Beautiful fruit up front, really elegant finish, but almost no mid-palate. Very austere in the middle. This righted itself once the wine had some time. — 5 years ago
Exceeds expectations! Not a fruit bomb. Great tannins could use 5 more years in the cellar but who has that time?😉 — 6 years ago

2015 vintage. Decanted (a little sed) and tasted after one hour. Medium heavy body. Some chunkiness in play with the famous Eisele Vineyard power consistently pushing forwards with zero letup/flagging. Slightly less complexity than anticipated based on a few visits over the years and the one hour open/decant boundary. Maybe it would have improved slightly but do not feel the presentation of flavors would have necessarily been more attractive down the road. Based on this effort, would probably look to hit again in 2030. 12.28.25. — 6 months ago
Eisele Vineyard ‘Altagracia’ 2012: Medium-full bodied. Elegant balance. Fine-grained tannins. Ripe delicious flavors of black fruits, plum & cherry, graphite, vanilla & oak. Smooth memorable finish. Consisting of 71% Cabernet Sauvignon, 11% Petit Verdot, 8% Cabernet Franc, 6% Merlot & 4% Malbec, this Bordeaux-style red blend from Napa was a big winner! Strong aromas, smooth rich flavors. Drinking amazingly well right now. Highly recommend. Great weekend to all. Cheers🍷 — 4 years ago
1975 Mayacamas. Dinner at Tap w Frederic. Drank last, after the 1975 Phelps Eisele and the 1990 Leroy. We opened and poured it. The nose was a little dusty at first (Frederic detected a little cork, even), but this blew off pretty quickly. This wine was the opposite of the Eisele, which was refined and elegant. This wine was muscular and punchy. A much bigger wine in the mouth. Will probably last longer than the Eisele. — 5 years ago
In a constant casual search for birth year bottles, I came across this - I liked the smart label design and recognized the Eisele name, but wasn’t expecting much. Amazingly fresh and vibrant! Just starting to show elegant tertiary character of cigar box and incense, with a core of fresh berry and stone fruit. Palate is generous and velvety. A fantastic surprise and beautiful pairing for the old standby NY strip steak and roasted potatoes. — 6 years ago
