Franz Keller

Franz Hirtzberger

Singerriedel Smaragd Riesling 2018

Wow! Exploding with tropical fruits but with a flinty/smokey mineral backbone. Have had these older but this was better younger — 4 days ago

Kirchweg Smaragd Grüner Veltliner 2018

Viognier-esque bitterness, Riesling-esque fruit, Burgundy minerality. A chameleon but still quintessential Gruner. The toffee notes and golden hue screams Smaragd. — 2 months ago

G-Max Rheinhessen Riesling 2005

lovely intense Riesling fruit. A hint of oxidation. Slate, apple, sweet floral notes. Rounded with good weight in the mid palate. Defined and precise. Excellent. — 7 days ago

Trocken Rheinhessen Grüner Silvaner 2018

Like all Keller, a powerhouse with a sneak attack. Try your best to ignore the gulpability and savor the ride. — a month ago

This particular bottle tasted somewhat evolved and sweetish. Crumbly cork, as well. — 14 days ago

Limestone Kabinett Rheinhessen Riesling 2023

Lime zest, key lime, limestone. Lime for days. Great minerality, bright acidity. Focused, balanced. Great. — 17 days ago

von der Fels Rheinhessen Riesling 2019

Lively and acidic but with potential for more. Decided we need to drink this more often. Dont quite have the massive structure of the GGs but still a fabulous wine! — 2 months ago

Educate me. I know Riesling on the same level as Mozart. Not much. But want to know more

@GaryWEdwards King of white wine for me. Germany is the place to start...Pfalz and Rheinhessen. Obviously dry and anything with GG on the bottle will be good. 2011, 2015 and 2018 habe been recent excellent vintages. K.P. Keller is the king of riesling...very expensive and hard to get but just unbeatable. After that its trial and error 🥂
