This Scheu is excellent. Some kind of a cross of Riesling and a wild vine by Georg Scheu in 1916 hence the name. Highly aromatic but more green than a Riesling less depth and build more for easy drinking even for this wine coming from old vines. Tastes a little bit like a Sauvignon Blanc. Passionfruit, hint of Pyrazines aka Grapefruit found in the New Zealand Savs’s. 🍋 Lemon. 12%. — 2 years ago
At first, wet grass, hay, pear, apricot and dried apricot, some petrol and mushroom notes... this is still very fresh, and has a beautiful touch of residual sugar that balances the still bright acidity. Washes over your mouth with secondary flavors of dried fruits and a long finish.
Above notes were before decanting... after an hour this is presenting a whole new fruit and floral perfume- unbelievably high-toned- like smelling perfume on a wrist. Blossoms above a deep muskiness. Magic! — 7 years ago
By the glass. Barb said aromas of Fairy Floss. (Aussies who have been to rural Agricultural Shows will be familiar with Fairy Floss - a sugary whipped confection). Also a note of Lemon and petrol, but oh so young - yet to display its potential. One of the least sweet Ausleses I have ever had. Great refreshment and lively acid. — 7 years ago
Dry German Riesling pleasure with roast cod lion and crisp polenta at new restaurant Gezellig in Holborn. Will return to both this wine and restaurant! — 7 years ago
Nose: bright. Lovely. White and yellow flowers. Pink grapefruit.
Palate: on the sweet side. Nice peach. Solid. Mountain stream. Sort of lovely if not not brilliant.

Quite light green tinged . Restrained fresh apple peel ,
camomile and sea breeze notes . On the palate quite strict salivating acidity with more green fruits , along with the camomile and mineral , chalky, wet stone element . Quite lean with just a hint of sweetness to balance with ok length. Young but enjoyable for now and the next 5 -8 years or so — 3 years ago

Mateo Sarah Anne visit and he’s a foodie and vino lover tasting through dessert wines. What to say? Deep Golden amber color and a fantastic nose that kept me sniffing and sniffing unwilling to taste. As previous a dancing yet profound character. Fantastic — 3 years ago

From half bottle. Birth year wine. Excellent surprise, this wine is quite precise on the nose with a saline minerality, yellow flowers, orange marmalade, some wax although the wine is quote fresh and not really tasting tired or oxidized in any way. Palette is unfortunately defined by an alcoholic weight (10% on the label) which detracts from the wine’s otherwise great elegance and ethereal nature. Not overly sweet with sufficient though not especially racy acidity. Overall very fun to drink and in a great spot from 375.

Wow, medium yellow color, very nice floral apricot honeyed with just a hint of that petrol underneath, with a light lithe texture into a bit more acidic finish. 8% ABV. Must have aged well since last time, last one unfortunately — 9 months ago
