San Andreas Fault Pinot Noir 2021

One of the rare Cali Pinots which is not a fruit bomb. Mostly raspberry intermixed with cherry, touch chalk well balanced with good acidity and length. 13.5%. These used to be relatively reasonable priced now north of 70$. It’s a shame really. — 4 days ago

Clos de la Maréchale Nuits-Saint-Georges 1er Cru Pinot Noir 2021

Built up a bit of excitement in selecting this Nuit-Saint George, then opened it up and neaaahhh!
All a bit flat. Nothing terribly wrong and it wasn’t corked, just no major aromas or flavors. Guess you can’t win em all. Or, we’ve just been spoiled with amazing wine and every now and then you pick an average one.
Still a great meal 😊

Château Latour

Premier Grand Cru Classé Pauillac Red Bordeaux Blend 2009

+2 hour decant(decent sediment). A marvelous dark magenta color. On the nose: perfumed red fruit, potting soil, graphite, cedar lined cigar box, herbaceous. Taste: Powerful, structured wine with red fruit, currants, planting soil, spice, and a cedar-minerally-mocha lingering and evolving finish! YUM! — 12 days ago

Absolutely one of the very best red Bordeaux producers. I can’t help but think what this is like in 2040 and beyond.

Epic vintage. Maybe, a modern day 82??? We’ll see or at least I’m still around. Never know! 🤷‍♂️

Château Grand-Puy-Lacoste

Pauillac Red Bordeaux Blend 2009

Medium deep ruby with a thin garnet ruby rim . Quite closed with some grafite, hickory , cedar and crème de cassis , dark cherry , red plum , quite dense but with quite a classic , dusty profile . On the palate this is again quite classic , with crème de cassis , cedar , blackberry, plum . Good acidity and fine , gritty tannin , well balanced . Pretty good length with a saline, grafite touch. With time
in the glass this is drinking quite well , still showing dark fruit and youthfulness but at the same time quite classic and serious. Probably will improve over the next 5 years or so and last well a further 5-10

Comtes de Champagne Grand Crus Brut Blanc de Blancs 2006

Popped and poured; enjoyed over the course of an hour. The 2006 Comtes de Champagne pours a straw color with a persistent mousse. On the nose, the wine is developing with notes of white peach, lemon curd, white flowers, lightly toasted brioche with chalk and limestone minerals. On the palate, the wine is dry with medium+ acid. Confirming the notes from the nose. The finish is long and creamy. This is delicious and fabulously balanced CdC. Drink now through 2036. — 13 days ago
