Needs some time to develop but still delicious. — 4 months ago
Wow. Nose is mad confectionary with lime zest, sweet lime, apricot (only a hint) and insane pulverized rock dust. Just so complex, subtle and nuanced. Genius. Dizzying. Just wow. Palate has ripping acidity and just the most intense sapidity. Stunning concentration and unreal length. So pure. Needs air but just incredible. Crazy minerality on the nose is echoed on the palate. Okay the confectionary nose is beyond now. Just insane. So elegant and precise. Again the purity of Icelandic glacial melt. — 9 months ago
Another great vintage of a very overlooked Gutedel. Nose is superb. Lots of complex minerality. Herbs and subtle spice. Lanolin and a wonderful windy airiness. So pretty. Reminds me of a lean Jacquere from Savoie. Just killer. Smells like a scene in nature. Standing on a clearing in a forest overlooking a beach with the wind blowing the detritus. What a wonderful smell. Some peach skin if you really are looking for fruit. Chasselas in general has no fruit to speak of. Palate is wonderful. Big time structure and density with intense minerality and sap. Very fresh, very pure, with such a nice core of minerals. Like liquid rocks. Some herbs and some sort of umami flavor. This is so clean and so pure. Long finish. Like way longer than it should be. Easily best Gut&Edel I’ve had from Max. What a wine and what a finish. A true sum of its parts wine.
Acid gets more metal as this airs. Nose becomes more floral and also herbal. Truly wow. Almost a 9.5. So intense and tangy. Some intense high acid grapefruit confectionary goodness! — 4 years ago

Just a brilliant, cerebral Riesling. Nose has some funk, lemon, lime, slate, lemon pith, lemon flesh and juicy lime. So piercingly mineral. The palate is just stunning. So gorgeous and pure. Really young out of the gates. Like biting into a lemon. Awesome acidity and freshness but very very young and closed. Air does wonders here. Wonderful but man does this need air. Now, 24 hours later we have gotten air. Boy is this stunning. The nose finally had that slate/porphyry minerality in spades. Dense and elegant with a fiercely mineral finish. Chewy. Structure for days! — 2 months ago
Needs a 30 minute decant.
Nose: exquisite yellow flowers. Elenant richness. Lemon oil. But so precise and dense. Utterly insane.
Palate. Immediate mineral hit. Almost spicy. Elegantly rich. Really good. Long. Dense. Wall of flavor. Lemon peel. Utter magic on the palate.
Internal aromatics are INSANE. Just perfection.

Super complex nose. Layered and confectionery. Matchstick. Intense minerality. Powerful and elegant. The minerality. Jagged, rocky minerality. Concentrated. Attack is powerful and the finish is so refined. Wonderful purity. Long and detailed. Chewy and concentrated. Very dry. Such finesse. Trucker in a tutu. Wow. Super pure. What a finish. This is genius. This has the finesse and elegance of the top wines of Germany. — 4 years ago

Super mineral nose. Wow. Deep and finely etched minerals. No fruit. Salty. Apricot, peach and white cherry. Honey? Complexity. Unbelievable finesse and crazy acidity and superb minerality. Really long finish. Tons of complexity and a GG like character. Inner mouth aromas. Salty and harmonious. Lovely. Stunning. What a value here. Superb baby GG. — 4 years ago

Not usually a white wine fan but the fizziness and citrus funk reminded me almost of a very natural cider. Bought after a wine tasting at local store. — 10 days ago
