Kloster Eberbach Baiken Riesling Trocken 2011 (Gutsabfüllung aus dem Cabinetkeller, Rheingau)
Big, complex nose with lovely (although far from finished) maturity (petrol, struck match, butter). There’s also honey and ripe yellow fruit (and lots of it).
Wine is intensive on palate with a high, singing acidity. Nice mix of concentrated tropical fruits, spice and maturity notes such as honey, petrol, which makes the palate even more complex than the nose. Finish is long and like nectar.
With all the mature notes sitting in the first seat along with a high acidity - I would really like to try it again with some mature hard cheese. — 7 years ago
Great example of German Riesling Auslese. A bit more developed than expected due to small bottle. Aromas of dry herbs, especially sage, honey, dried apricot, baked apple. Great acidity to balance the sweetness. Body is round and smooth, some hazelnuts and butter in the aftertaste — 8 years ago
Gift. Drank 11/1/2025 with porcetta dish. Lively bright maybe natural. From the region introduced by Frieder in October 2014 the Frankfurt book fair and from the monastery visited with Oda on hike. Juicy. — 10 months ago

Sugarcane juice, sweet acidity, nose is super strong with sugarcane notes. — 8 years ago
Refreshing, crisp, slightly effervescent, and not too sweet. Would enjoy again if looking for a Riesling — 2 years ago
The Mauer where it’s only the grapes picked from the wall where they absorb heat from the day. Peaches and steel. A hint of sweet. Lovely mouthfeel. Fresh and delicious and long. — 5 years ago

Berg Roseneck 2011 Riesling BA (Rheingau).
Sweet with immense freshness and the low alcohol matched with high acidity. This makes it ethereal and lovely.
Honey syrupy and full-bodied, with lots of fresh citrus, orange and a very rieslingesque burnt rubber note. — 8 years ago

Wow. Really nice. My first sip was a bit of a shock. But the ensuing ones were intriguing. Some pear, freen apple, stony minerality that is almost lime- like ( not the fruit). A tinge of the petrol. Very pleasant — 7 days ago
