Consistently great bottle of wine. Racy, floral and, with baking spice. Long finish. Strong value. — 7 years ago

My friend @Dave had this recently and said it was drinking well so I pulled one of my bottles. I struggle to find food that good Bordeaux shines with. Maybe our cooking wheelhouse doesn’t click with it. In any event, AFTER dinner this wine seemed really good. Nose is developing some nice complexity, with dark cassis, roasted Persian spices, cedar, moist gray clay, a bit of sweet wafty smoke. Rich and softening nicely in the mouth, with cigar box and cassis/plummy flavors, and some flinty minerality in the finish. I almost always like wine with food better than just wine, but not this. This is really fine to sip and contemplate. Great value. — 3 months ago

Shows a little of the bell pepper aromas that I often found in older Sonoma Cabs, but nicely balanced fruit that is still quite youthful, tannins have mostly receded, drinking quite well tonight, bravo Patrick for making this gem!! — 3 years ago

Vintage 2014 / I wanted a classic French wine in honour of Bastille Day. Decanted two hours in advance.. Developed very well in the last 24 months. Classic smell with laurel, chocolate, forrestwood. Well balanced taste. If the vintner can make such a good wine in’14 how will the wine taste from a great year? Interesting domaine in Graves to follow. / Paired with a Boeuf Brochette and cheeses. — 7 years ago
