Les Vergers De Picardie

Les Grands Vergers Arbois Trousseau 2023

Interesting palette not sure I ever tasted such an herbal wine before. Nose: cherry, orange? Taste: cherry, rhubarb, unidentified herb? Definitely a new try but very interesting and I did enjoy. — a month ago

Les Vergers Chassagne-Montrachet 1er Cru Chardonnay 2019

2019 vintage. Don’t come across this producer often but this example is firing on all cylinders currently. Not as oaky as many C-M’s and truly in a great spot now. No rush to crush with exceptional balance. Unfortunately, last bottle. Will see if I can rummage around and drum up a few more bottles. 1.2.26. — 5 months ago

Another beautiful 22. From the very first sip, you know you have something special in your glass. Live a first sip.

Viscous, lightly waxy & elegant. The entry glides over the palate. The fruits perfectly ripe. Meyer lemons, green apple, pineapple, kiwi, grapefruit, lime pulp, whipped cream, excellent saline notes, sea fossils, crumbed limestone, caramel, butterscotch candy notes, understated honeysuckle, mint hues, perfect white spice tones, yellow & white flowers, perfect acidity, very well balanced, toned softly, refined elegance with an amazing long finish that land on spice & minerality.

Les Caillerets Chassagne-Montrachet 1er Cru Chardonnay 2022

2022 vintage. Part IV of this 2022 Marc Morey Chassagne-Montrachet premmie cru vintage journey. Les Vergers (tasted 5.15.25 and 10.24.25 both 9.4). Les Chenevottes (3.4.26 rating 9.4). En Virendot (3.9.26 rating 9.4). Still have at least a few of all of these. None of them are on the wine list, and frankly, may leave them all off and just hand sell to appreciative white Burg aficionados. This go round…more historically familiar with Caillerets vs the previously mentioned plots. Held up exceedingly well. As with the other efforts mentioned, plenty of ginger notes/influence. Acidity present and accounted for. Not as much as expected mineral visitation but enough to do the plot justice. Restrained, spicy oak power points. A finish that goes on longer than an Alex Lifeson Hemispheres solo and nearly as good. Marc Morey nailed it for this vintage. All the same, we take our chances. 5.3.26. — 16 days ago

Les Vergers Chassagne-Montrachet 1er Cru Chardonnay 2016

Another 2 years on from the previous bottle. Slightly hint of matchstick, crisp yet creamy mouthfeel, very very light hint of vanilla. Overall impression is of freshness and lemon. — 5 months ago

Spectacular, at peak but still very lively, a glorious example of perfectly aged white Burgundy. — 8 months ago

Les Chenevottes Chassagne-Montrachet 1er Cru Chardonnay 2022

2022 vintage. Most excellent lunchtime visit from the esteemed @Pinotman /// Andreas . A fave C-M plot. Premmie Cru (always nice) effort. We traced this wine through the various temps. Generous, yet balanced acidity coupled with fruit in the early, chilly going. Light-medium/medium body. Back-end oak influence that was complimentary during the visit. Never got flabby…even when it warmed up to 60+ degrees. Classically structured with phenomenal tension. No rush to crush yet drinking so well so early. Decisions…decisions. Enjoy as you will under your preferred palate/aging guidelines. There is no wrong answer here. 11 bottles left and I only can wish of having another case at my disposal. Picked up a case of this, Les Vergers and Les Caillerets after only sampling Les Vergers (9.4) from the 2022 vintage. May have lucked out on that flyer. 3.4.26. — 3 months ago
