Ruby color with aromas of ripe black fruits and some floral and earthy notes, aged 22 months in stainless and oak. On the palate flavors of cherry and blackberry with vanilla spice. Fine tannins, vivid acidity, nice balance ending with oak and earthy mineral spice. Good now! — a year ago
Had at Jettie Raes. So yummy. Slightly tart and sweet, but super smooth finish in the mouth with lingering deliciousness — 4 years ago
Exactly what I want from Sauvignon blanc — 5 years ago
A very unique wine. Needs time to open. Notes immediately of fresh raspberries then opens up more with notes of salt on tomato. — 6 years ago
Good, but not great. Yeasty. From Chelsea and Nehal. — 7 years ago
Pale golden lemon color with aromas with complex aromas of citrus, floral and flinty stone fruits, lees aging with regular bâtonnage for a period of about 8-12 months. On the palate flavors of lemon, pineapple and peach with floral notes and slight herb spice. Long rich finish, balanced acidity ending with sweet citrus and stony mineral spice. The vineyard is in organic conversion since 2020. — 4 days ago
Dry but with stone fruit notes that imply sweetness. High acidity. And the fizz. Refreshing. Delicious. I want more! — a year ago
Before the storm! Apremont Jacquere planted in 1956, destroyed in 2019 by hail. Orchard fresh fruit salad. Stony pallet and pineapple acidity. There is a creamy character, nice little background to the fruit and mineral. Does need some air to disparate some ‘natural odors’ but I find those easy to get past. — 5 years ago
Had for G's 30th birthday celebration (a few days early) with Convivial takeout. Needed a little time to breathe; peppery at first but got fruitier with time. Delicious. ~$40 at Dvines. — 6 years ago
Aging great Sancerre for a few years just concentrates and focuses all its best qualities. Perfect elegance, richness, high-toned minerality and that mango/papaya/gooseberry thing. #dominiquecrochet #sancerre — 8 years ago

💫 This lovely Sancerre AOC was made from the challenging 2024 vintage, marked by cool and wet conditions. One of the worst vintages in recent memory, according to my research.
☝️ It’s a testament to the resilience of Sauvignon Blanc and François Crochet as a vigneron, especially considering his commitment to organic and biodynamic farming, firmly rejecting the use of chemicals and fungicides.
👏 Perhaps it was Crochet’s very discipline, watchful eye, and careful hand-harvesting that helped avoid flaws of the 2024 vintage.
🏘️ François Crochet is located in the commune of Bué framed by limestone-rich hills, producing a range of terroir-driven wines.
🌿This wine represents a blend of parcels including several which are normally kept separate for single-vineyard bottlings including Petit Chemarin, Grand Chemarin, and Les Amoureuses.
🥂 In the glass, this wine has a lean and elegant profile with some texture perhaps from time on the lees. Its mineral spine takes a lead role in the bouquet, next to crushed limestone and stony, flinty notes alongside crisp apple, lime zest, kiwi, and gooseberry notes, with a clean, focused finish punctuated by a saline tension.
🍽️ It’s a beautiful—if not classic—pairing with this goat cheese & arugula omelet over a salad with cucumber, avocado, and ripe blueberries. 🫐 The wine’s bright acidity cuts through the creaminess and its gooseberry flavor matches & lifts the tang of the cheese. — a day ago
