Oak Spring

Smith Madrone

Spring Mountain District Riesling 2021

Pale lemon in color.

Strong nose of apples, lemons, limes, minerals and light diesel notes.

Medium plus in body with medium plus acidity.

Dry on the palate with a touch of RS to balance it out. Showing citrus, apples, pears, light earth, light diesel, limes, light grapefruits herbs and sea salt.

Tangy finish with limes and herbs.

This 4 year old Riesling from Spring Mountain is starting to drink nicely now, but needs a few years in the bottle to mature properly. Spicy and entertaining.

I've had a few vintages of this wine, and so far the 2018 vintage is my favorite one.

Will continue to age nicely in the next 10 years.

Elegant and nicely balanced. Complex and interesting.

Good by itself as a sipping wine or with food. Crisp and better when not too cold.

13.2% alcohol by volume.

91 points.

Trefethen Family Vineyards

HãLo Hillspring Vineyard Cabernet Sauvignon 2019

Tobacco and a hint of smokiness (in a good way) on the nose. Faint hint of red fruit on the front. Medium tannic structure — surprising for a Napa Valley Cab but with really lovely vibrancy. Light mineral highnotes on the finish. Lovely. — a month ago

Philip Togni Vineyard

Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon 2018

My first opportunity to try Togni. A beautiful style. Rustic, pure, and well integrated. Enjoyed the fine tannins and fruit flavor. Delicate and high quality. — 10 days ago

Spring Mountain Vineyard

Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon 1979

1979 vintage. Last tasted 8.15.25 (9.4) and 7.15.25 (9.4). Decanted and tasted after 15 minutes. Still giving and surprisingly filled with life. Forced, begrudging retirement but still über-active and outpacing every senior member in your zip code...er...cellar. Just won the yearly Pickleball tourney-again. Suck it, neighbor. 12.10.25. — 6 days ago

Trefethen Family Vineyards

Oak Knoll District Cabernet Sauvignon 2021

One of our favorites wineries, this vintage is a bit drier and lighter than the 2020 (which we preferred slightly better), probably a bit young to open, best if paired with a well seasoned and juicy/fatty steak. — 10 days ago

Silver Oak

Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon 2020

From a 5 Bordeaux grape blend: 81.6% Cabernet Sauvignon, 14.8% Merlot, 1.8% Petit Verdot, 1.4% Cabernet Franc & 0.4% Malbec, aged 24 months French oak, 85% new. Deep Ruby with aromas of dark fruits, floral and toasty spice. On the palate flavors of blackberry, cherry and plump blueberries with notes of herbs, baking spice and toasty notes. Fine soft tannins, long finish ending with cacao, toasty oak, fruit and earthy mineral tang. Very nice, aging well, but time will reward! — a month ago
