Another solid vintage of this Dave Phinney California Merlot. Dark ruby/black color. Aromas of cooked black fruit, lavender, cedar and dark chocolate. Flavors of blackberry compote, chocolate covered cherries, coffee, plum pudding, cola and a bit of fresh herbs. Long, lingering and very smooth finish. Soft tannins. Full bodied and pretty intense. Quite fruit forward but there are also some savory notes. Velvety texture, rich and juicy. Fits within the Orin Swift profile. Solid restaurant value. — a month ago
Amazing balanced blend. Fruity but not over powering. — 4 months ago
The choice was this beauty vs an old world Bordeaux…guess younger who won. We are so impartial to the Napa big, bold, jammy fruit forward style. Plus this one is velvety with no back end bite. A definite revisit option. Perfect for closing out a wild week of “sandwich generationing”. So grateful I have my sweetheart by my side. Cheers. Now bring on this snowstorm…we will be cocooning all weekend. — 12 days ago
Nose much more Intense than the palate. Oddly delicate. — 2 months ago

Orin Swift has such interesting labels. Black licorice, fresh thyme. Cigar smoke on the backside. They also extract every ounce of color from the grapes. — 4 days ago
