Poggio Grande

Talley Vineyards

Rosemary's Vineyard Pinot Noir

Always a favorite winery and wine. Even after 16.5 years, this bottle offered a beautiful compliment to sushi. The color and clarity held, as did the fruit, which softened and provided an enjoyable, velvety mouthfeel. A mid-week treat! — 8 days ago

Bollinger

La Grande Année Brut Champagne Blend 2005

Quite pale lemon yellow colour . Still quite constant fine perlage . Some candied peel , light meaty notes , touch of nutty , yeasty richness . On the palate this is quite intense and fresh still , quite full bodied , with some citrus peel , roasted nuts . This is drinking perfectly now , quite rich but enough freshness to balance . Good length, balanced acidity , with a lightly toasty finish . At Noizé , London , 14th Jan, 2026 — 13 days ago

Tommasi

Poggio al Tufo Rompicollo Maremma Toscana Sangiovese Cabernet Sauvignon Blend 2021

2021 vintage.
Sangiovese 60 % and Cabernet Sauvignon 40 % from Pitigliano estate in Maremma, Tuscany with a southwest exposure.
Owned by Tommasi family since 1997.
Rompicolla is ‘breakneck’ but means tremendously steep and slippery slope…a risky adventure.
Soils are deep in volcanic tuff.
Stainless steel ferment and matured 1 year in 65 HL Slavonian oak casks.
Red cherries, raspberries, savoury spice, and floral.
Medium bodied but fresh and clean on the finish.
This wine loves food ….and I appreciate that.

Domaine François Cotat

La Grande Côte Sancerre Sauvignon Blanc 2008

Old Sancerre, such a rarity, preserves that precision focused acidity and notes of dried lemon, dried pineapple and dried peach. Finish is refreshing. Wow. — 10 days ago

Podere Poggio Scalette

Il Carbonaione Alta Valle della Greve IGT Sangiovese 2021

Popped and poured; enjoyed over the course of dinner. The 2021 pours a deep garnet color with an opaque core; medium+ viscosity with light staining of the tears. On the nose, the wine is vinous with notes of black cherry, espresso, black tea, dried herbs and gentle warm spices. On the palate, the wine is dry with medium+ tannin and medium+ acid. Confirming the notes from the nose. The finish is medium+. Drink now with patience but, to my palate, I think this will be better with a few more years in the cellar so the oak can better integrate. This is built to last well past 2041. — a month ago
