Had this wine with Penne Vodka and Pancetta. Bold flavors that paired well with the various flavors in the sauce. I am looking forward to pairing this with other full flavored Italian dishes. — 6 years ago

From the odd bins collection in my cellar. Dark dense Ruby in colour. Aniseed, ripe Blackberry, dried red fruits, full bodied and a bit rustic. For lovers of full bodied McLaren Vale Shiraz. Probably a better winter red. — 5 years ago
not very fruity. but oaky. soft tannin. high acidity. medium to full body. bitter tannin at finish. a bit out of balance.

Here’s a cool one: Picotener is a sub-varietal of Nebbiolo that actually performs better than the average in more extreme conditions. This is an experimental wine and it’s a home run in my eyes. You can taste the youth on the vines, but when it picks up, I can totally see this being a new age version of my favourite grape for the future. Has a lot of the flavour characteristics that I love about Nebbiolo (roses, cigar box, cherry), but a more youthful fruitiness. Im a fan. Hope it catches on. — 6 years ago

Cherry, raspberry, roses, pinecone, licorice, and hint of cinnamon and balsamic on the expressive nose. Quite muscular on the palate for a Barbaresco, especially considering 2018 is a lighter vintage, like a Barolo but in lighter frame. Polished tannins lead to a long elegant finish.
This small winery was founded by Guido Rivella the long time winemaker at Gaja in 2010 and acquired 2 tiny parcels in the Fausoni cru in 2015. — 7 days ago
