At 17 years this wine is still deep, vibrant ruby in color with powerful aromas of black cherry, black olive, earth, leather and forest floor. Showing youth as well as age it is full and meaty and yet still agile on the palate. Velvet tannins give it a rich texture but there is no heaviness here. Still on the young side but already revealing it’s greatness. Additional cellartime will make this an exceptional beauty. Quite serious tannic backbone and some alcoholic heat. Time should make them blend — a month ago

A more leaner rendition of this varietal, but in a good way. Nose displays clean cinnamon and toast. Palate is broad and expansive, yet light on its feet. A kiss of vanilla pod and black fruits conclude an excellent presentation. This is an intellectual wine.
