Built up a bit of excitement in selecting this Nuit-Saint George, then opened it up and neaaahhh!
All a bit flat. Nothing terribly wrong and it wasn’t corked, just no major aromas or flavors. Guess you can’t win em all. Or, we’ve just been spoiled with amazing wine and every now and then you pick an average one.
Still a great meal 😊 — 17 days ago

What a nose. Custardy, gras, tropical but also granitic. Wow. So expressive. Citrus marmalade. So mineral and just expansive. Like a 9.6 nose. Maybe more! It’s a 9.7 nose. Sickness. Palate has energy for days and days and is so elegant, fresh and complex. Beautiful. Long. This is one of the best St. Perays I have ever had. Wow does it cling with super pure citrus and edgy tropical fruits that just coat the palate. Rich and energetic is my favorite combo. As this airs it comes more into focus and gets so nimble. So complex. Almost a 9.7! — 3 years ago

One of my favorite wines we get almost nothing of. Pure class in 23. Gorgeous, floral aromas, black cherry, hint of reduction, limestone galore. The palate is young but with extraordinary fruit. Pure. Zero hard edges and really energetic. Acid is on point. Such sweet fruit developing with air. So sappy and dense. Unreal. Wow. Nose now confectionary blackberry and black raspberry. Fun Dip powders. And the stick kind of. Palate gets elegant with such fruit authority. Unbelievably delicious. But has a decade plus and will benefit greatly. — 11 days ago
