Château Cheval Brun

Saint Émilion Red Bordeaux Blend 2018

Medium ruby in color; blackberries, cassis, and graphite on the nose; medium acidity; high tannins; tastes like black cherries, black currants, and wet gravel with a long finish. Needs to decant. It was much better after an hour in the decanter. Nellie said it was ok. I like it. — 2 months ago

Rías Baixas Albariño 2023

"La Val" is Spanish for "The Val." And we are drinking La Val with our friend Val. So, it's all coming together.

A very delicious and refreshing Albariño. Some lemon zest and minerality on the palate. Will be a nice summer wine. — 3 months ago

Domaine des Terres Dorées (Jean-Paul Brun)

Moulin-à-Vent Gamay 2022

Forgot to take detailed notes, but this was nice. Not really any carbonic / natural / “new agey”notes, just a solid classically made gamay. Definitely has some structure, opened 4 hours before serving which was good. Didn’t sing on any one dimension of fruit / earth / acid / length / texture but was nice overall. — 3 months ago
