Beautiful aromas of brioche, pastry and subtle yeast lead into a remarkably complete palate. Huge flavor and concentration without heaviness, driven by tremendous salinity and one of the finest mousses imaginable. Long, sapid and profoundly elegant. — 2 days ago
Words almost fail here. Monumentally fine and utterly complete, combining substance with incredible elegance and purity. Everything is perfectly integrated. One of those Champagnes that simply feels inevitable from first sip to last. — 2 days ago
Pinot Meunier and Pinot Noir, and just an extraordinary Champagne. More angular and elbows-out at first because 2013 is 2013: acid, chalk, force, mineral severity. But with air it became breathtaking. Powerful, electric, Meunier-driven, wildly food-friendly, then the acid folded into lithe finesse and elegance. With foie gras and cheese, unreal. One of the great bottles of the year. — a month ago

A 50/50 blend of Pinot Noir and (Pinot) Meunier; mostly sourced from the 2011 vintage (40%) with the balance from 2010 and 2009.
Popped and poured; enjoyed over the course of a few hours. The C. de Pinots NV pours a straw color with a persistent mousse. On the nose, the wine is developing with notes of ripe apple, toasted brioche, split almonds and lemon bar and spices. On the palate, the wine is dry with medium+ acid. Confirming the notes from the nose. The finish is medium+. The DNA is there and showing a slightly more oxidative style. Drink now. Disgorged July 2016. — 3 months ago

A thrilling expression of Champagne’s forgotten varieties. Electric acidity, astonishing purity and breathtaking finesse. Dense yet feather-light, with extraordinary sapidity, epic length and an unbelievably refined mousse. Completely distinctive. — 2 days ago
100% Pinot Noir and absolutely gorgeous from the first pour. Fine, refined, elegant, with beautiful red orchard fruit, chalk, ocean air, and that subtle seashell/saline thing on the nose. And mad brioche. Seamless, composed, already beautiful, no awkwardness at all. Serious depth but carried with total grace. One of the best Champagnes I’ve had all year. Even better on day 2. Picked up depth and breadth. — a month ago
Absurd. This man is a mega mega superstar. Amber-gold, refined Blanc de Noirs nose of brioche, pastry, white cherry and mineral. The palate is the story: impossibly fine mousse, fully integrated, sappy, vinous, mouthwatering and complete. It turns into an orb in the mouth, no hard edges, just toast, purity, sapidity and a finish that keeps watering the palate long after. 9.7, flirting hard with 9.8. — 2 months ago

@Delectable Wine : This is the Emilien Allouchery Le Répertoire cuvée. I didn’t see it in the database.
92-93 (same as the BdB, but I’m going a tick higher).
Opened the BdB in April ‘24. Same winemaking process (80% fermentation in oak barrels, 20% in amphora); same disgorgement (May ‘23); this BdN received 3.5g/l dosage versus the 1g/l of the BdB. Followed over two days and stayed consistent.
Very grower champagne and very BdN. As with the BdB, this is texturally really pretty but more powerful. Fruit dominates with caramel dipped apples, spiced pears, red berry fruits, honey and even some cider aromatics. Same thought process I had with the BdB in that I’m curious if the use of amphora adds to the mid-palate texture here (feels like it did with the vintage BdB Marie Courtin I had last month). More rich and spiced apples and pears, some lemon pastry and orange zest. This wears 3.5g/l dosage great, but the ripe fruit would handle a gram or two less no problem. — 6 months ago
60% Pinot Noir, 20% Meunier, 20% Chardonnay. A beautiful blend resulting in an amazing Champagne. — a year ago
@Delectable Wine This is the 201. Thanks!
An expressive nose of brioche, biscuit and beautifully developed autolysis. Richer than the younger cuvées yet still remarkably poised, with gorgeous salinity, effortless elegance and an exceptionally fine mousse. Drinking beautifully while retaining tremendous freshness. — 14 hours ago
An outrageous nose of salt, chalk, pastry and autolysis. The palate is incredibly concentrated yet weightless, with enormous density carried by a seamless, elegant mousse. Intensely mineral, deeply sapid and seemingly endless on the finish. A spectacular Blanc de Blancs. — 2 days ago
Popped and poured; enjoyed over the course of a couple hours. Clément Perseval’s 1er Cru Rosé pours a light rose gold color with a persistent mousse. On the nose, the wine is developing with fresh notes of raspberry and strawberry with lemon curd, white flowers, a whiff of fresh brioche and laden with minerals. On the palate, the wine is bone dry with high acid. Confirming the notes from the nose. The finish is long with minerals for dayzzz. This is far and away the most un-Rosé, Rosé I have ever had. Usually, I find them to be rounder than their non-Rosé counterparts and this is not that. The acid and minerals are insane. Almost like a particle beam in a wide spray across the palate. Fantastic. Drink now through 2034/35. Based on the 2019/2020 vintage. Disgorged in November of 2025. Thanks @Lyle Fass for the assist! — 25 days ago

Jérôme Lefevre, Elaine Delalot’s son, falls into the category of noninterventionist; at least by Champagne’s standards. No pesticides. No weeding. No tilling. The dude doesn’t even prune. “Impressions” comes from a single small vineyard in Charly-sur-Marne called “Les Boulards”, planted exclusively to Meunier. The soils in Les Boulards are largely sand! The wine is aged in new, medium+ toasted, 300L barrels. The results are stunning.
Popped and poured; enjoyed over the course of an hour. “Impressions” pours a slightly bronzed color with a persistent mousse. On the nose, the wine is developing with notes of bright tropical fruits, raspberries, citrus, some varnish, and minerals. Natural. Soulful. Stunning. Confirming the notes from the nose. The finish is long and the texture is creamy. A totally “wow” wine and one of the more singular Champagnes I’ve had since my visit with Clément Perseval last fall. Disgorged November 2023. Bottle No. 562/1590 — 3 months ago
The best white wine I have had this year. Meslier, Pinot Gris, Arbanne and Chardonnay. Stunning florals and a bit of Chenin DNA but way better than any Chenin. The nose is like Batard’s art school (RISDE?) cousin with a nose piercing and tons of tattoos. Just ridiculous. Fascinating and so complex but restrained and beautiful. Palate is magic. Huge acid, restrained richness, hint of oak, unreal finesse and just awesome concentration. Finish is minutes long. The perfection of the palate is just beyond anything. This rewired my brain. Absolutely perfect but only a 9.9 as age will rally this into the stratosphere. — 10 months ago
Nose is a bit more broad and less focused, smokey and brioche and yeast and bread, so fine and very dry and mineral, also the earthiest one. So pure and so sappy. Clean and fresh. Not too complex but so well made and fine mousse, juicy and invigorating and sapid and lots of fruit skins. Classic and champagne for parties. — 3 years ago

@Delectable Wine this is the 198. Thanks!
Beginning to reveal mature complexity with porcini mushroom, golden pastry and deep autolytic character. Rich, expansive and beautifully layered, yet still astonishingly fresh underneath the maturity. A magnificent mature Champagne that feels nowhere near the end of its life. — 14 hours ago
