Scents of chocolate, licorice, and plum. Palate of plum sauce, black cherry, and tar. Firm tannins blend well with juicy black fruits. Long, drying finish. Very nice. More of an international style.

2017 vintage. FLB fodder. Decanted and tasted after 15 mins, 45 mins and 1.25 hours. Medium body. Fairly muddy color. A parlor trick of rose petals and tar up front with a battle to the death, both mid and end palates, between chalk and dark chocolate. Chalk won. Not what I would call refined but made up for that with plenty of rusticity/old school/authenticity vibes. Apparently, I liked it more than anyone else here but a bonus .2 for the retro-stylings. Clear, medium ruby to purple in color; on the nose, it's clean with medium intensity primary and secondary aromas of blackberries, blueberries, and graphite; on the palate, it's dry with high acidity, medium tannins, medium alcohol, medium body, and medium intensity primary and secondary flavors of red plum, sweet tabacco, and clay pots with a medium finish. This wine is simple, but balanced and complex. Overall, I rate this wine as good. — 7 months ago
