Flavio Roddolo

Superiore Bricco Appiani Barbera d'Alba 2011

Is this thing still on? I was inspired to log on by @Lyle Fass ‘s post on Threads regarding the decline of this app. Sure enough, my first note was lost. Second try. We all miss Delectable but it is nice to see some of the same folks still flying the flag. This Roddolo was fabulous - deep and rustic with lovely sweet fruit that broke out around 5 hours in… — 7 days ago

Pelissero Pasquale

Bricco San Giuliano Barbaresco Nebbiolo 2021

Another excellent vintage of this Barbaresco favorite. Light ruby color with garnet highlights. Aromas of red fruit, rose petals, orange zest and toasted wood. Delicate flavors of sour red and black cherries, sweet baking spices and red and black licorice. Lengthy finish, gentle (but tight) tannins and plus/tangy acidity. Medium bodied, feminine and harmonious. Still young with time to progress. Thanks for opening this bottle, Keith S! — 3 months ago

Azienda Agricola Elvio Cogno

Bricco Pernice Barolo Nebbiolo 2016

Very similar to the recent 2013, but with more roses. Again, much softer, less powerful than the Ravera and the Vigana Elena. $225 from WA. At home with Curly. — 2 months ago

Bricco delle Viole Barolo Nebbiolo 2019

2019 vintage. Decanted and tasted after one hour. Medium body. Vibrant and drinking great now but a decade wait might just up the ante. Tough to lay off tho. 2.20.26. — 3 months ago

Azelia

Bricco dell'Oriolo Dolcetto d'Alba 2022

Popped and poured into a bota bag; poured into chalices and free-poured into mouths as I played the role of Dionysus at a Greek god themed dance party. The 2022 pours a deep ruby/purple color with a near opaque core; medium viscosity with moderate staining of the tears. On the nose, the wine is developing with notes of primary black and blue fruits, mixed florals, anise and minerals. On the palate, the wine is dry with medium tannin and medium acid. Confirming the notes from the nose. The finish is medium. I love the fresh, crunchy fruit. A perfect wine for revelry! Drink now through 2030. — 5 months ago

Gaiun Martinenga Barbaresco Nebbiolo 2016

2016 vintage. Last tasted 5.4.24 (9.6) and 2.10.23 (9.6). Decanted and tasted after 45 minutes. Still kicking serious assets and ignoring names. Such a woofer. Arrive with respects or leave on a stretcher. Your choice. 3.27.26 — 2 months ago

Mid bright garnet colour with all sorts of aromas on nose and palate, cherry strawberry rosehip and very well balanced with long lingering finish — 4 months ago
