Elegant and at 30 years really starting to show its age with a bit too much oxidation. The finesse and elegant structure, the valve between fruit and acidity is still there but the wine is showing mainly tertiary elements now - lots of dried herbs, mint, mushroom and earth with just hints of the plum, black cherry and blueberry that were once there. Very long finish ands very much for those who appreciate aged wines. — 17 days ago

In 1877, Illario and Leopoldo Ruffino laid the foundations of their dream to make Italian wines from the heart of Tuscany. Medium Ruby red color with aromas of dark berry fruit and earthy spice, blend of 80% Sangiovese with rest Merlot and Cab Sauv. On the palate flavors of black cherry and plum with tobacco, pepper and earthy cedar notes. Full-bodied, well balanced soft drying tannins on a smooth medium+ finish. Quite a healthy ruby garnet core and thin garnet rim . Quite herbal and funky on the nose at first , then with spiced cherry, pomegranate, leather and dried sage. On the palate this has sweet red fruits , pomegranate and high acidity , fine tannins and a decent dried herb tinged finish . This is drinking well now and will continue to do so over the next 5 years — 18 days ago

The name of the estate comes from "Ca' Pazzo", shown on ancient maps. Caparzo is owned by Elisabetta Gnudi Angelini, she also owns Altesino, her signature is on the label! Deep Ruby with berry fruit aromas with cedar, herbs and smoke, aged for 2 years on oak. On the palate sour cherry, plum & radpberry flavors, with leather, cacao, spice and tobacco notes. Lively acidity, fine slightly drying tannins, long ending with spicy herb oak finish. Nice, drinks well, decant! — 16 days ago
