Hudson Vineyard Chardonnay 2020

As big fans of the Hudson vineyard, we needed to go here.
As expected, it presented the typical Hudson signature of ripe exotic fruits, volume on the mid-palate and unctuous sweetness. Pure and viscous in terms of presentation. We are enjoying this on wifey’s birthday.

That picture is great. Looks like a professional advertisement!

Acacia

Carneros Pinot Noir 2019

Medium ruby color with a dark core. Aromas of black fruit, wood smoke, and sweet spices. Flavors of crushed blackberries, black cherries and black plums with hints of allspice, black pepper and dark chocolate. Pleasant touch of minerality on the medium-plus creamy finish. Fruit forward but pretty well balanced. — 21 days ago

Nickel & Nickel

Truchard Vineyard Chardonnay 2023

Nicely balanced and fresh with sliced apple, pear, melon, papaya, tangerine, and a brush of vanilla from 10 months in barrel (30% new). There’s a salty streak here that I didn’t expect. Not over the top. Entry level single vineyard from Far Niente. — 2 months ago

Time for something from France.

I’ve generally not been a huge fan of Taittingers N/V, but after a series of Croatian wines, it seems much better. Just goes to the saying, everything’s relative! .
