My first exposure to Don Melchor was rewarding! Rich, dark fruit maturity on the nose was consistent with long lasting dark cherries and red plum on the palette. Soft tannins reminiscent of a well aged Cabernet, the softness of this young cab was surprising and delightful! An absolute treat to taste!! — 2 months ago
Ganz leicht oxidativ und etwas prickelnd. Schöne mineralik, feinherbe frucht. Seeehr überraschender Pecorino. I like the style!! — 13 days ago
Fun, funky and natty! Candied ginger, fermented bamboo shoot, kumquats. — a month ago
2019 vintage. Last tasted 4.3.24 (9.3) and 10.18.23 (9.3). PNP. Light medium-medium body. In a great spot already with some of the overtly, machismo dryness in previous visits now double-live gonzo. Big camphor/eucalyptus, cola nut, tree bark, semi-ripe cherry, rhubarb. Tannins not far from the proceedings. Maybe, just maybe, gets to 9.4 status in a few years. Seems to have enuff stuff(ing) to handle a 10-15 years hibernation period should you so desire. 03.16.25. — 2 months ago
So syrupy and sweet. Great with banana ice cream. Not my favorite dessert beverage but super complex and interesting through the sweetness. — 6 days ago
