Finger Lakes Semi-Dry Riesling 2023

Ron R
9.2

Impressive for its focus and presentation. Green Apple and grapefruit on the nose and palate. Clean and laser-focused with lychee on the back end. Super summer’s day sipper. Tilting sweet. First time trying this producer. Was not aware that NY was producing wines of this quality. — 10 hours ago

Dry Creek Valley Cabernet Sauvignon 2022

Popped and poured; enjoyed over the course of two days and best on Day 2. The 2022 pours a deep garnet color with a near opaque core; medium+ viscosity with moderate staining of the tears. On the nose, the wine is youthful with notes of ripe and tart red and black fruits: currants, blackberries, tobacco, leather, dry earth, a combo of cool and warm spices. On the palate, the wine is dry with medium+ tannin and medium+ acid. Confirming the notes from the nose. The finish is long and a bit more tart than the nose previously suggested. So fresh right now. Drink now with patience; better after 2027 and through 2047. — 24 days ago

Colson Canyon Vineyard Syrah 2005

Big, rich and ripe blue and black fruit aromas and flavors, great balance, usually Joey’s richest Syrah in every vintage, long, lingering finish, should easily last 5-10 additional years, yummy! — a month ago

Crazy thing I just realized when taking the bottle to my recycle bin is this was 15.6% ABV — there was no real heat, just immense ripe, rich heat?!?! Amazing!!

Lytton Springs Dry Creek Valley Zinfandel Blend 2006

Cork giving out but why not after 19 years! Wine is escaping to fresh beauty with a little wet dog age that I like.
Holding her space in 2025
80% Zin, 16% Petite Syrah, 4% Carignane
14.7% is reigning it in on this varietal and well done! Doesn’t feel fire breathing at all 👏

Quite perky 2022. Not modern style, much more acidity than expected. Rich robust dark fruit. Tight tannins. Really nice. — 8 days ago
