Popped and poured; enjoyed over the course of a couple hours. The NV Grand Cru Brut Réserve pours a pale copper color with a persistent mousse. On the nose, the wine is developing with bright notes of raspberry, strawberry, white peach, lemon bar, almond and minerals. On the palate, the wine is dry with medium+ acid. Confirming the notes from the nose, the finish is medium+. Quite lovely stuff. Drink now. Disgorged March 2023 — 7 hours ago

Popped yesterday, notes from today. Another spectacular showing, and this is better ln day 2 than day 1. On the nose: cranberry, rose, lemon oil, vanilla, and a hint of honey. On the palate: lovely acidity, lemon, cranberry, crushed stone...love that cool mineral core...then some tang and good density on the long finish. Very, very good. — 4 years ago

Dark Ruby with a tawny rim. Savoury plum with earthy dusty notes on the nose. Trademark H of G silky palate with sweetness and a little barnyard - medium weight but with M plus intensity. Still on the plateau in its 27th year verging on its 28th. Easily Australia’s best single vineyard Shiraz bearing in mind that Penfolds Grange is multi regional. A lovely old Australian Shiraz with its ancient old vines - always delivers. I will drink my last one in the next 6 to 12 months. — 7 years ago

Vintage 2015 | Now I understand the reputation of the Doctor. Textbook Riesling. | One anecdote I never forgot. Michael Broadbent wrote that his honeymoon was to the Mosel. And one of his deepest wishes was to make love to his wife in the Doctor. He wrote it dry and witty, as only British could. Very credible. | paired with salmon and shiitake. — 6 months ago
