I haven’t had an Italian Pinot Nero in literally decades. This is actually quite good and seems to reflect mountain-grown Pinot nicely. Light color. Nose is fragrant with bright, ripe cherry and crushed, bright mountain stone. A wee bit of spice. In the mouth it’s flavorful and transparent, with bouncy cherry fruit and crushed rock at the fore. Nice acids and a teensy bit of tannin to scaffold the package. — 2 years ago
Not overly aromatic with shy ripe pear, sourdough rye toast, cool stony minerality and a herby whiff. Great presence and depth yet also freshness.
On the palate this shows breadth & depth. Great density balanced by fresh, juicy acidity and an amazing finish with pronounced saline minerality. Beautifully integrated wood (12m aging on fine lees in aged 500l tonneaux), great precision.
This is probably peeking right now and drinking absolutely beautifully.

Green apple nose, hint of tropical fruit. Fresh lime acidity, and soft minerality. — 7 years ago
High acidity white flowers and bees wax nose. Crunchy. Best white of this winery. Didn’t like the Chardonnay nor the Sauvignon Blanc. #pinotgrigio #altoadige — 3 years ago
Lion figure in gold on the label. Very Euro. Color is rusty, dusty red. Aroma of a warm strawberry in summer. And maybe lakes. Clean, fresh flavors. Just the most faint savory bar-b-que pork to go with the cherry-chocolate cordial. Perfect hint of funk under it all. This is a fun and delectable Pinot from the Alto Adige. Italy might be on to something. — 5 years ago
Pale ruby in color, medium intensity aromas and flours of fresh red berries, high acidity, low tannin, medium alcohol, best slightly chilled, great for light lunch, roasted poultry , charcuterie — 5 years ago
Nice lil pre flight snack. Wonderful with prosciutto & mozzarella pie. — 7 years ago
Subtle and easy to drink. Light, fruity, a little tartness. No tannins. We should have chilled it a little more. — 5 months ago

Sweetness for dayze. Apricots and honey — 5 years ago
Light, transparent ruby. No shortage of funk on the nose - lots of manure, mushrooms, and dried herb with little to no fruit. Medium, but gritty, tannins and less acid than I was expecting. In the mouth the earthiness continues with dark, stewed fruit - lots of plums. This smells better than it taste, but was different and enjoyable for pizza night. — 6 years ago
