Comparing two top end Taurasi from Feudi di San Gregorio
The Fievo is lighter vs Rosamilia, with more baking spice and uplifting orange peel & orange blossom character to the ripe black cherry. The black volcanic minerality underneath is the same unmistakable Taurasi.
On the palate, slightly juicier with the fruit slightly lighter and the tannins less meaty.
Brilliant depth & length, though still a baby.
Drinking at this moment, I slighty prefer the Fievo, but both are brilliant wines. — 4 months ago
Expressive, spicy, brimming with fresh salinity. White peach, tangerine, salty rocks, chalky minerality.
On the palate this is expressive yet austere at the same time. The fruit contained within a tightly woven mineral frame. Salty, spicy, with great purity and energetic tension. Amazing length & depth.
This is a complex, serious, beautiful Fiano.

All the rich intense dark fruit of a young wine, with the structure, fragrance & complexity of its 15 years—superb! 100% Merlot, decanted & savored. — 5 years ago
Pungent, interesting wine. Crushed flowers, overly ripe plum, sour cherries, ripe raspberries, maybe bark. Astringent. Serious wine. Open this way in advance. — 3 months ago

Still learning wine. This is a good red. — 5 years ago
23 years old Aglianico. Colour reveals this little fact. Very ripe and slightly oxidized Madeira-like bouquet full of caramel, toffee, balsamic and animal notes, tar, purple basil and medicinal herbs. Great balance, good volume with ripe tannin (which is still quite powerful). Long evolving aftertaste. Sophisticated, already on it's peak. Great experience. — 5 years ago
so smoooth, so mouth coating, so rich. mmmmm — 3 months ago
Comparing two top end Taurasi from Feudi di San Gregorio
The Rosamilia, coming across slightly heavier vs Fievo with dark plum, baked black cherry, a hint of cinnamon and the black volcanic minerality more pronounced. A hint of coffee dregs or very dark roasted espresso.
On the palate, slightly fuller than Fuevo, the pronounced yet juicy tannins and brilliant acidity. The dark spicy plums are on the forefront.
Brilliant depth & length, still a baby though.
Probably should wait longer than Fievo. Might need to dip into my 2016s instead. — 4 months ago

Feudi Studi Greco di Tufo Chianchetelle 2018
Expressive & lively with white peach, ripe red apple, a stony, rocky, mineral underbite enriched with a flowery whiff and a hit of almond.
Nice, medium-bodied mouthfeel with racy, juicy acidity and spice peach & apple. Underneath all that there’s a mineral, salty note, adding another dimension. The mineral edge adds almost a light tannic feeling.
This has quite some depth, tension & character. It’s not for the light hearted (14,5% alc!) but carries it well and is a brilliant idea expression of the often simple Greco. — 5 years ago
