Medium ruby , slightly lighter rim , touch of terracotta . This is really quite complex , with more development than the others. Slightly more spiced cherry , touch of smoky tea , high toned with rose , truffle and leather . Each time you return to the glass you can find something new . On the palate this is very fresh , some earthy sous bois , red cherry , porcini , elegant and refined , very long length. Spiced cherry , earthy , truffled finish . Polished but noticeable tannins , fresh acidity , perfectly balanced , alcohol completely integrated . Really refined and elegant, enormously complex and thrilling to drink . Just starting to drink quite well with time and will probably continue at this level if not improve over the next 10-15 years — 9 hours ago

2023 vintage. $120+ a bottle resto cost. I mean it’s nice but for that pricing and what I’d hafta charge for it? Hard pass. The new Antinori stuff (don’t ask about the whites) not working for me. Yet another outstanding vintage (2020) of this consistently excellent Co-Op produced Barbaresco. Aromas of red fruit, dried rose petals and anise. Flavors of bright red cherry and raspberry fruit, mint, Asian spices, minerals and orange zest. Long and earthy/smoky finish. Fantastic balance, structure and depth. Fine grained tannins and a silky texture yet still firm and powerful. So delicious now, but built to age for at least another decade. So tasty, a good finish to the week. Cherry on the nose with white pepper and hints of fresh mint coming through. Mouthfeel is silky smooth with medium+ body. On the palate, beautiful cherry and anise. Tannins seem to be providing a longer finish than most langhe nebbiolos, with mineral and cherry flavors coming through. Acidity is medium.
