2006 | Riesling (Auslese)
Selbach-Oster; Zeltinger Sonnenuhr 'Rotlay'
Mosel; Zeltingen-Rachtig, Germany
APN 2 606 319 06 07
(93-95; drink 2016-36)
"Rotlay, a South facing parcel, is the single best parcel within the Sonnenuhr vineyard. Rotlay holds vines between 90-100 years old. The position of this vineyard is important as it sits in a "hot spot" between the cliff and river and is the site where it's typical for botrytis to form each year. There's approximately 1350 bottles produced from 1 neutral barrel (Fuder) for both fermentation and aging." — 3 years ago

Our of this world. Palate is glorious. A bit cold right now for an aromatic evaluation. But the palate is cooking. Elegant and juicy with just awesome fruit. Insane peach. So pure and clean. So complete. Terrific density and intensity. Superb structure. Just an awesome wine. — 3 months ago
