With lobster pasta, and the touch of sweetness on the tip of the tongue was perfect. Acidity absorbed by the grains. Nice. Haven’t had anything from Alsace that wasn’t top notch. — 3 years ago
nice, light. — 5 years ago
Just to be clear, I loathe the childlike art class paint on the bottle.
Steely, subtle, the crisp of a pear, lilacs in the bouquet.
Candied ginger, fresh meadow grass, a welcome, sweetness that plays off the silky mouthfeel. Reminds me of the smoothness and balance that is achieved in well made cocktails that use milk washes (what used to be one of my favorite bars in the city, MACE, when it was run by Christian, a worthy and adept Bar Manager in Alphabet City — he’s now at Mister Paradise).
Also, lemongrass.
I quite like this take. — 6 years ago
This is the 2021 Ziegler (Cave de Beblenheim) Mambourg Gewurztraminer Grand Cru. The “Ziegler” brand is one of the brand names used by this well-regarded co-op. I love the balance on this wine. This nose is classic Gewurz, but in a restrained fashion. Lychee, pear, deep floral notes, river stones. Off-dry on the palate, it’s got nice fruit initially, accompanied by some nice stony minerality. A nice bitter note enlivens the finish. Decent acids for a Gewurz! Superb value (I got it for $22 from WTSO) — 5 months ago

Lovely from Waitrose. Would buy again good with spicy food, or good for a gift — 5 years ago
Maybe my favorite wine from Alsace. Vanilla buns, old english marmelade, white floral notes and mineral. Great for a hot summers day — 6 years ago
Classic juicy Riesling - lemon and apple and withering orchard blossom with a touch of graphite. Driving acidity, lingering finish — 6 years ago

This wine I had the other night is the 2019 Pierre Sparr Grande Réserve Riesling. From Alsace - Beblenheim, France.
On the nose there is citrus, lemon, bicycle tire, pear, green apple, vanilla and minerality.
On the palate there is lemon, lime, peach, green apple, golden delicious apple and good minerality.
This wine is light to medium body smooth and creamy mouthfeel with medium + to high mouthwatering acidity that leads right to a long citrus apple mineral finish. Please have a healthy and safe holiday weekend. Nostrovia! 🥂🥂🥂🥂 — 4 years ago
Very dry and fruity, yet never bitter. Lover this wine — 5 years ago
Price value was good at €8 a bottle. Great colour, oily with low acidity. — 6 years ago
Fruity, sugary and a little smoked. Not acid, but you can feel the alcohol. Very nice indeed — 7 years ago

@Delectable Wine - This is Sonnenglantz, not the Mambourg.
For a Gewurz-head like me, this is delicious. Nose features bright, lusciously ripe fruit in the form of canned peaches and pears, along with lychee, lilies, and a gravelly note. It’s Auslese-level sweet in the mouth, but has a nice sense of freshness (for Gewurz, which is a low acid varietal). This won’t be a long ager, but when I’m in my Gewurz mood like I am right now, this high-quality, good value co-op (Cave de Beblenheim) wine scratches the itch. — a month ago
