The times I helt a bottle like this in my hands, I can probably count on only one hand. Even for Delectable this is a rare occasion because it didn’t know how to correctly recognize it. When a wine connects like this, lifts you off the ground and takes you to a beautiful place, you know it is good. Intense, but perfectly balanced, so many instruments playing that still echo for minutes in a lingering finish. 26 years old yet so vibrant and wild with dark punchy fruits encapsulated by aged mahogany wood that released different flavors every time I took a sip… yeah… life is good. Offered by a friend who loves wine and even more loves to share! — 9 days ago
Dark Ruby with dark berry fruit aromas, vanilla, cedar, baking and herb spice, fruit only from Barossa Valley, aged in French oak. On the palate this wine has complex flavors of blackberry and blueberry with licorice, cacao, oak and vanilla. Fine dusty tannins, peasant mouthfeel, full-bodied, long ending with a nice earthy spice finish. Aging well, good now, has room to age! — 5 days ago
Quite light garnet wide terracotta , garnet rim. Quite a lot of dry spice , nutmeg , star anis , red cherry, raspberry , red currant , earthy hints . After a while a bit more leafy , smoky on the nose. On the palate this is quite light and direct in style , raspberry , red cherry and those earthy , granite touches . This has fresh acidity and fine , light tannins . Reasonable earthy , spiced finish . Certainly ready and on this showing will probably last ok another 5 or so years. Not the most complex , overall I found it a little pedestrian, but still showing ok , but no need to wait any longer , I don’t see this improving . — 2 months ago

This wine confounds me sometimes. Its real hard to peg this as an Australian wine. This is a true structure bomb like any other massive Boudreaux blend. Black fruit and cassis, with pencil lead and earth tones. Deep dark Hugh, and a long finish. i struggle with its costs, but I'm glad to have enjoyed a glass — 18 hours ago

Dense crimson in colour - impenetrable. Strong aromas of mint. The excessive oak influence in Penfolds reds early in life has settled down after 15 years. All the individual components early on are now integrated settling in for a long life. Penfolds say to 2040. Ripe blackcurrant with plum, dark chocolate and liquorice notes. Bin 407 came about because of an embarrassment of Cabernet riches even after their flagship Bin 707. An excellent Cab - I now have 5 left for the coming decade or so. — 2 days ago
