Butteaux Chablis 1er Cru Chardonnay 2014

Seems he nailed this vintage. Best bottle I can remember trying from this producer. All the oxidative notes are now fully integrated. — a month ago

Beaulieu Vineyard

Private Reserve Georges de Latour Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon 1994

Dried red fruits, baking spices, cedar, Price Albert tobacco, coco nibs, stewed tomato and leather. Maintains good acidity with softened tannins. A bit past its prime but still drinking well.

Perfect wine for watching the Las Vegas Grand Prix!

Domaine de Valmoissine Pinot Noir 2023

Raisin tight enough; no character yet.
20 minutes later: Ooh light cherry cola! Had it with my weirdly chocolate tasting homemade soba. I guess seaweed, tsuru no moto, tamari, egg, sesame oil caramelize in the mouth and make this wine like a trip to 7-Eleven in 1986. Me likie.

Louis Latour

Bourgogne Pinot Noir 2022

Bright ruby color. Aromas of red and black berries, currants, black pepper and baking spices. Flavors of red and black cherry/currant/raspberry fruit, black licorice, and all those spices. Pleasantly earthy and nicely balanced. Mouth filling structure and soft/elegant tannins. Very reasonable. — a month ago

Château Latour

Premier Grand Cru Classé Pauillac Red Bordeaux Blend 2005

A knockout left bank Bordeaux. I’ve read that the 2005s may go longer than the potentially even more vaunted 2000s and I might agree based on this bottle. Decanted 5 hours. Cork in perfect shape. Amazing depth of fruit and a ton of Bordeaux earth. Nose goes on and on as does the finish. Was an excellent pairing but a very good but simple roast chicken. — a month ago
