Mature SLH Pinot. Drink now. It’s starting to turn more acidic and tart than fruit forward — 7 years ago
Good but this was the last wine straw at the 2018 boys’ lunch and put me over the edge! — 8 years ago
From Shelby, from her bosses vineyard, this was very good — 9 months ago
Bold bold bold. Took over an hour in the decanter for the tannins to mellow. Too early for this 2018 but a great wine in the making. — 4 years ago

Cherry and plummy with earthy notes. Dare I say, light tobacco finish — 6 years ago
With my boys here in Detroit. It’s 5p somewhere...
Nice tobacco notes on the nose. Black cherries on the palate with, earth and a meaty dimension. Pure silk and crushed velvet on the mid-palate. Finishes with hints of truffle - outstanding. — 7 years ago

Really nice, aged well. Found it in the winc cellar today. Turns out it was given to me by my late father so very long ago. Appropriately had it tonight celebrating a late Father's day with all my boys. Thanks Dad. — 8 years ago
Off the charts. In so many ways. It’s rare to explore such densely packed fruit in wine, and when you do, it’s usually associated with jammy notes and way too much oak. This is this the opposite. Freshness and pronounced minerality lead the dark fruit flavours forward while serious tannins wrap things up, supported by great, interwoven acidity and framed by licorice tainted oak treatment. Best from 2022, but drinks amazing already given 4-5 hours of air. — 8 years ago
Really good steak pairing. A little past its prime but lots of fresh fruit flavor. Finish is short but due to age. Drank with Kevin and Josh M and their boys with grilled steak, potatoes, and oven broccoli. — a year ago
Scored a couple of these bad boys from Full Pull for $20. Money spent wisely. Tasting like an old Frenchie, time to drink since it’s starting to lose some flavor. Still a really nice representation of how well WA wine can age. — 4 years ago
Had a couple of these “Blue Boys” in my cellar. Mollydooker (Aussie for left-hander) Wines was established in 2005 by Sarah and Sparky Marquis. Dark Ruby with big dark berry fruit nose adding sweet spice and cedar. On the palate this wine has complex flavors of blackberry and blueberry with cacao, oak and vanilla. Fine dusty tight tannins, peasant mouthfeel, full-bodied, long ending with a nice spicy finish. Aging well, good now, has room to run. — 5 years ago
60% Cabernet Franc, 25% Merlot & 15% Cabernet Sauvignon
Nose has spring rose, rain moistened red raspberry, black currant and fresh sage.
Palate has lightly tannic blackberry, wet leather, ripe black currant, cigar box, wet clay and tarry black cherry.
Paired with a long cooked Bolognese sauce over fettuccine. Decanted ~3hr, more time in the decanter would benefit. Future bottles can be 2022+
Happy Father's Day 2019 to all. Today I'm posting pictures of our kids, yes they are all furry, independent and somewhat self-interested. Two boys (8) and two girls (2), sisters, all rescued. They generally bring the utmost of joy to my life on a daily basis. It has been a rainy and relaxing day here, everyone is loving the slow pace of life today.
I think that Delectable needs to be able to tag cat+wine posts so that I can make a bookmark for felines. — 7 years ago

Special wine shared when we got great news from both of our boys😍😍. Wonderful! Special day, special wine. — 8 years ago
I really love Tawny Port and was quite surprised as to how good this Aussie version is. An NV, but the average age of the blend is 21 years. Soft on the pallet and not too sweet. You know this is a fortified wine, but the alcohol is not overpowering. Plum, fig and raisin flavors. A “Sherry-like” nuttiness. Really terrific! Thank you, Mark Smith. Revisited in May 2020. Still fantastic! An after dinner wine to share! Revisited again in June 2022. Still fantastic. — 8 years ago
